Joseph’s Dream (Gen. 37:1-11)
Not the dream you dream while sleeping, but there’s something you think of your entire life. Steve Jobs created the iPhone as revealed from within God’s time schedule, and the reason is because God created the universe, and after He created the universe, He controls it, not randomly, He is moving everything according to the time schedule of His plan. But there’s a standard by which He moves everything in creation. If you know that standard, even if you’re not good at studying, you can be used, but if you don’t know this, even if you’re good at studying, you’re not going to do much. Because you don’t know the direction God is taking everything you study, you’re going to go diligently in the wrong direction.
Who knows the standard? Who knows the standard with which God moves all of creation? People say they believe in God and Jesus, but you ask what they believe in, and they don’t know. Do you believe it? If not, the works of disbelief will come into your studies. Satan even worked on Jesus, the son of God, then working on you is a piece of cake. If you don’t know something, Satan will continuously deceive you and work on you.
Peter heard the message and did not believe it. Is it true that what you study is part of creation? Are your studies part of creation? Some people say they are Christian but cannot act like one, and they cannot live like a nonbeliever. Are your studies a part of God’s creation? Yes. Why are your studies part of God’s creation? Whatever you’re studying in English, is that part of creation? Yes or no? Your math, is it part of creation or not? Your history, is it a part of creation? Physics class, is it part of creation? All of it is a part of creation.
Why is English part of creation? Because God gave us the ability to communicate with each other. God gave you the language so that you can communicate with each other. God also gave us math so that we can understand the logic of the world through math. God gave us history so that we can learn from our past. God gave us science so we can study and understand His principle of creation, then everything you study is a part of creation, right? The creator God created that, right? Then you need to understand and know how God is moving everything now.
Are you part of God’s creation? Then, how is God moving you? You don’t know. Raise your hand if you think you know. You’re part of God’s creation, then how is God moving you? If you make money, is that part of God’s creation? Then, do you know how God moves money? It’s not according to however you spend it. I’m telling you how God is moving all of creation; you can’t spend your money however you want. Aren’t you curious? I’ll tell you with the Word of God.

I’ve given you all the answers, but if you still can’t give it, that’s why you fail your tests. How is God moving all of creation? With His Word. Where is it written? You need to use the Bible scriptures, find it in the Bible. Hebrews 1:3.

We are dead to God and the one who has the power over death moves us, that is, Satan. We must be renewed and believe in the words of Jesus Christ. Thoroughly we must speak of Christ, not just talk about Christ. The name Jesus means, “Savior” who saves you from your sins, and “Christ” talks about the anointed one, so Jesus is the Christ. Christ is Jesus, do you understand? The name “Jesus” means Savior, saving us from sin, Satan, and death, and the way that He does that is by doing the work of the Christ. She said she listened to today’s message and was liberated.
When you have a conflict with someone, don’t look at the other person, but it’s a chance to look at the word of God and change yourself. But instead of being able to explain the reason why we talk about Christ more than Jesus, this person was just talking about the denomination, what a headache. Jesus is the Christ and whether you talk about Jesus or the Christ, it’s the same person. Whether you call me by my name or “Pastor,” if you know who I am, it’s the same. But it means that you know what the work of the pastor is. That’s the difference we’re talking about.
Then, what is the Word that Joseph knew? He knew the fact that every human being is born separated from God, under the authority from sin, Satan, and death, and that God saves me with the Word of His gospel. Every single person needs to receive the Word of the gospel to be saved. Then, let’s say you accept Jesus Christ and become a child of God.
God’s Child
If you don’t know God’s Word, you’ll be dragged by your problems and fears. God is moving you by His Word, so if you hold onto the Word, then He will move you according to that Word. Joseph held to the gospel had family problems, what problems? His mother died. Is it true that all of creation is moved by God’s Word? Then, it is true that even God allowed Joseph’s mother to die to fulfill God’s Word? If so, you need to find God’s Word regarding why God called your mother away, and the answer to your problem is in God’s Word. God is moving all things with His Word, so we must find God’s Word.
His mother passed away while he was young, so what is God’s Word regarding why his mother was called away. His mother tried to block the work of God in Joseph, she lived holding onto idols, then that would be an obstacle fulfilling God’s work in Joseph. From Joseph’s perspective, it is sad, so one must ask God Who moves creation with His Word. If God moves randomly, we wouldn’t know, but God moves through His Word. Then, you need to ask, what is God’s Word and plan for calling his mother away. God gave Joseph the answer through His Word. That’s what we read today, he dreamt the sun and moon, representing his father and mother, would bow down to him. His mother passed away but he had three other mothers. The eleven stars, representing his brothers, bowed down to him. Physically speaking, it is him becoming governor, but spiritually, “I will reveal God through you,” and that became Joseph’s Dream.
If you face problems in the family? Find the answer through the Word. But if you’re lost in your emotions as you lose your mother, then it won’t work. Instead of holding onto God’s Word, discover God’s Word in your answers but you fall into despair and depression instead. That is why the Bible tells us that the first thing we must attain is the fear of God, for that is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. If we’re not able to learn and train in these things, we will suffer in the world. You believe in God but you don’t understand or see how God works. You aren’t at Harvard but you are spiritual elites right now. You must importantly be the spiritual elite, the spiritual summit. Everybody does not know this, so teach them this so that you’re able to lead the world instead of being dragged by the world.
Later on, Joseph stood before Pharaoh, the king of the world, and the Pharaoh had dreams, God was moving it with His Word, but Joseph did know that, and prayed to God and received the answer in His Word regarding that dream. When he relayed that answer, Joseph became the summit, and that’s the reason God called you. God didn’t call you to be the governor, but to be the summit who saves the world. What’s the problem? If there’s a problem, there’s an answer. All problems are part of creation where God moves with His Word, so you can find His Word in all things.
As this happened, his brothers tried to kill him. It’s possible to have conflicts in the family. What happens if you let that be? It will be so difficult, you need to escape from your conflicts. If you let that conflict remain, it will go deeper into spiritual problems. His older brothers tried to kill him, then he was dragged as a slave to Egypt. You need to quickly come out of your conflicts, how? You need to change yourself with what God is trying to do. If you keep losing hold of God’s word and conflict with the other person, the devil enjoys that. I need to change myself to be aligned with the direction God’s Word is taking me.
Lot and Abram had a relationship with conflict, and one day, because there were a lot of material possessions on both sides, they began to fight with one another. They had a lot of people. So Abraham and Lot began to fight, and at that time, Abraham came out of that conflict. Usually when there’s conflict, you don’t go to church anymore, “I don’t like that guy,” and you go somewhere else. If you don’t like someone, you’ll cyberbully them nowadays, you’re in conflicts with friends, and later on, they will fight with their parents as well. Quickly come out of that. Successful people come out of their conflicts quickly. Even nonbelievers are good at that, I told you about Samsung. In 1991, the CEO of Samsung said to change everything in your life except your wife. I had a job in another company, but my friends got to work at 4am and ended work at 2pm. The CEO wanted the afternoon for self-development and self-study. The CEO realized, “If we go the way we are going now, we cannot compete in the world,” and from then, his business analysts went abroad to study for a year. He had a plan, he made them completely live in that country to study the market of that land. That’s something Japan had already done for a long time, they put business spies. All their living expenses are covered, they are doing thorough market research and reporting back. It was completely researching a market before devising a product. In such a way, we renew ourselves. If I’m facing a conflict, how do I renew myself? Change my direction to face God; hold onto God’s Word. The Word is being blocked at my level, so Abraham held onto the word of “Canaan” and came out of that conflict. Without a doubt, you will face crises. “I can’t do this,” you need to quickly come out of that. It’s not a crisis for God. You’re stuck in your level so you cannot solve the problem. The Word of God is moving, so you need to quickly find that Word. There’s no crisis for God, you need to quickly find God’s chance in the crisis. Not a single person is not caught up in problems, conflicts, and crises.
To fulfill God’s dream, he’s going to work in the same way. You may be studying but if you’re blindly studying, you can’t do that. Your studies, your major will be used to save the world. In the midst of that, there are conflicts and crises; change yourself with the Word and the mission. People are stuck in their nature and cannot change, but for you, if you receive the Word and understand now, your nature amy be used by the Word of God. Ask God questions instead of fixating and worrying about the future.
