The Spiritual Blessing of Only Christ
He spoke very seriously but don’t be down. You must not follow the emotions or the atmosphere. I met Do Yeon when he was maybe 2 or 3 years old, and I saw he grew up as he led praise, and I was filled with emotions realizing what the remnants are. However, if the ministry we do does not all return back to the Christ, which is written about in the Bible, imagine how much suffering that would be for the remnants.
We can only know only Christ through God’s grace. When Simon Peter confessed, “Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God,” God said, “This was revealed to you by my Father in heaven,” but no one knows when this grace will be upon us, and nobody realizes immediately and changes. Moses changed when he was 80, of course, there are some people who experienced this while young, but most people are not like that.
When you go on retreats, you can see some students accept Jesus Christ there, not the Jesus Christ they’ve heard about so many times, but they personally accept Jesus Christ as their Master. In order for that one moment to come, there are many things they went through throughout the years, and if those many things do not happen, we do not know what the students go through. God guides everything through His plan.
The Bible verse we just read was one part of the introduction of the Washington DC Winter Retreat to open the hearts of the students. We must save, but how do we save? The Bible tells us that the Spirit saves. Then, it says the flesh counts for nothing, meaning no matter how much the body lives, the body is not enough. But for unbelievers, they think the physical things are everything, so they live for that.
However, we are always talking about the spiritual state and the Spirit. I spoke about this on Wednesday, and if they stake their life, there’s some spirit working in them, whether they are believers or unbelievers. So a person will spend their life depending on whatever their spirit values deep inside. Unbelievers stake their lives on physical things, and even believers without a spirit have no choice but to be pulled in the physical direction.
Today’s scripture says the Spirit gives life, and everything else will be given life as well. The way this happens is, “Jesus says, ‘The Words I have spoken are spirit and life,” so only Jesus’ words can save. The words of people may be able to help us; only the words of Christ can truly save somebody. Now, we are simply waiting for the time when God’s grace comes upon us so we can really understand Jesus’ words. It may not be today, but regardless, we relay it.
One day, the moment when the words of Christ come into us, we ourselves will be revived. Nothing else can save your Spirit. If your spirit is dead, you’re spiritually dead. Your spirit must come to life with the Life to overcome death; you will overcome the authority of Satan and death. You will never overcome with physical things. These eyes must be opened as you live your walk of faith.
It’s possible to know a lot of the Bible without knowing this. Some people pray and receive answers, even other religions can receive answers. Some being gives answers, and just like the preceding message, some people receive healing and go to another religion and demonstrate power as well. That’s not the true issue; is my spirit being saved with the words of Christ? Only once the Spirit comes to life will everything be restored in the time schedule.
The reason why there are so many mental problems in America is that the spirit is not revived. Why do people get hooked on drugs? We cannot fix it. Almost every student in America will try drugs and experience the weakest drug, marijuana. Now in Korea, they are no longer stopping drugs, they spread the most severe drugs, opioids. Now they can go on the internet and buy drugs, and now, there are so many drug dealers that so many kids can do them.
I thought Korea would not be like that, but as long as a person’s spirit is not revived, they are bound to be stuck on something. Why is that? They want to live, there’s no other reason. There are even drugs inside of crackers and chocolate, and there are cases in America where there is the wrong kind of drugs in edible candies and people die that way. Because America is a nation that prioritizes money over everything, they will do all sorts of things to make a little bit more money.
People think America is a safe nation, but it’s not. Korea is safe, you can walk around at night, Korea is a country where you can play outside on your own no matter what day or night it is. You can’t imagine this in America or Europe. So, when foreigners go to Korea, they say, “This place is so great,” because at any point of day or night, they can go outside, there are parks and rivers, the lights are always bright, but the suicide rate continues to increase.
I went to Korea last year and it’s exactly the same as America, they have everything we have; if anything, Korea is more comfortable. The country is so small and they have the internet, everything is convenient and similar to here. They make everything so delicious to overcome the competition, but for the young kids, they have no hope so they commit suicide. It’s a great place to live, and they have money, but they say it’s difficult. They suffer internally and are unsatisfied. They should be satisfied but they’re not. Not just in Korea, but America as well, and post-pandemic, the suicide rate among young people is higher.
If you know this field, how will you teach the students? Should you take it easy on them? Should you say, “Are you afflicted?” They will not be able to overcome the world. Shouldn’t we raise them up to be spiritually strong? If somebody does not want to be raised spiritually strong, we can go to another church and raise spiritually strong people.
However, I lived my life before I met Jesus Christ with an unbeliever background, and I saw my friend commit suicide while he was young. He had a business and was good looking. Why did he kill himself? There was a spiritual problem, there was no reason why he should kill himself. His father smoked many cigarettes and was a professor and died because of it. So, my friend struggled from that and would come from Gangnam to my house and constantly spend time with me.
He did something I really didn’t like. I wouldn’t give him the keys to my car, but he hotwired my car and drove it around. I didn’t want to give him my car so I told him my wife was against it. Nowadays I would say, “Why did you take my car?” but when I was an unbeliever, I couldn’t speak like that, and 8 months later, his mother contacted me and told me he committed suicide. His mother called me and told me he committed suicide. He was a graduate from a good school and good looking and had a business. Why would he commit suicide?
This is a spiritual problem, no other way to interpret it. At such a young age, he was in his 20s and he hung himself, and that was the time I believed in Jesus Christ. Even now, I do ministry with the young adults with this thought. As I think about this, I raise the remnants, but there are people who grew up in the church who cannot understand. Those who grew up in the church cannot understand this as they look at the pastor. They only see the greased classic way the pastors slick their hair. The way you grease your hair isn’t the issue when people are dying in the world.
What’s the point of doing all this in the church when kids are dying in the world? They’re bullied and can’t tell their kids so they’re oppressed. They can’t share this with their parents. I was like that as an unbeliever. We cannot save. We’re so oppressed by that and that’s how Satan holds us. It’s fake. Of course if you speak with good words, that’s great, but what if that’s only my level?
I saw my parents fighting all my life, and I thought it was just my parents, but it turns out that every household is the same; they just have different reasons, it’s a spiritual thing, but if you don’t know this, you say, ‘Why is my family like this?” Fighting is normal. Two people are different so it’s normal to have different opinions. They fight as they don’t know how to accommodate one another. It’s a spiritual thing, there’s no other reason.
There’s a difference in personalities but that’s not true. Satan holds onto me with something called “me,” that’s why we fight with people in the church, but the person thinks they are doing well and are correct in their eyes, and they always think they’re right. Being correct is not the Word of God. That might be correct to you, but that’s not correct to the other person. The demon continues to bind us in this idea that we are right.
Jesus Christ did not come to earth to argue who is right or wrong. Jesus came to earth to liberate you from being bound by Satan to tell you that you’re right. You see this in the families. Your family is a blessing, whose family is a problem? The people in the world are a problem. “If only I was born into a different family,” but God sent you to that family. The parents you have are perfect for you. When you truly believe Jesus Christ is the greatest value, you realize everything is a blessing.
During the Winter Retreat, I disciplined my daughter, “Why are you not able to change the spiritual environment?” I wouldn’t say this to a normal kid. If I wanted her to avoid those environments, I would not raise her like this, but I had to tell her the correct standard, “Will you be dragged into these environments or will you change the world?” It’s the same in the church. They do well, she gives a lot of offering, she interprets, she does a lot of roles in the church, she has a good job, but that’s not the standard. I keep telling her to overcome the environment of the world and change the world.
Nothing else is necessary; if she cannot change the world, she will lose many blessings. That’s what I’m talking about. I don’t want people to live haphazardly and receive grace in the church. If that was my goal, I would comfort people gently and comfort the people who come to church, and that’s necessary but they cannot overcome the world, the toxic words of unbelievers.
Satan already knows if we say one particular thing to a person, they will be hooked on that and will fall. The standard of world evangelization and America evangelism is changing the field. The standard is not making a lot of money by praying in the name of Jesus Christ in the field, so draw the correct image in your heart, holding to the Word of God.
This is my image, the disciple who has everything in only Jesus Christ, a disciple who can change region by region. If we have this, there’s nothing else I want, then what about everybody else? Only the people who can do this will come. Even if they’re not like that right now, they need time, but they will become like that. I live my life almost to the point of death as an unbeliever; what else is there to talk about? I’ve talked about knowledge and tried it. Will I talk about success? I had successful friends, but what does my conscience speak of?
Christ. There’s nothing we have in our background before God. We must have this to relay this correctly. Your lifelong direction is 237 evangelism. Any other direction is incorrect. Confirm with the Bible and relay correctly, then what I’ve experienced will come. I’ve experienced that answers come even if I don’t pray for them. In the past, even if I prayed for things, they wouldn’t come. It’s quite ironic.
However, I’ve experienced that when this one thing takes place, God answers with His time schedule. What’s important is to first be accurately set before God. Just as you’re building a car, you must first have the accurate blueprint for the car. But for us, instead of having the correct blueprint, we just think, “Car, car, car” and we get it. But if you have the accurate plan for the car, it will be made naturally. The owner gives you everything you need and everything is prepared and given to you as you have the correct plan.
If you have the incorrect plan, the owner cannot give you materials as you use them incorrectly. It takes time for you to have the correct plan as you have to change the incorrect parts inside of you. You need to change the image you’re drawing, thinking money is everything. You need to change the image thinking that studies is everything. Change the image that thinking having a good personality is everything. The world thinks if you give a lot of donations, you’re a good person, so break that image.
We need to change that into the image of only Christ, only the Kingdom of God, and only the Holy Spirit, and we have no choice but to do this until you realize, because nothing else will work. My image is only talking about this and only raising up people who believe in this and go before God. This is not some conclusion I reached by reading the Bible. I also experienced and confirmed there is no other way than this.
If there are any of you in 2023 who think the incorrect image is correct, I hope you will quickly change that. You can do that through prayer, imagine as much as you want through prayer. Even young students can do this, and even the elderly will dream in the Bible, so we must do this. What image and vision must we see? The image where the disciples who have only Jesus Christ will arise, not a disciple who will forget about this and turn their back on this, not a disciple who cannot bear to have their pride hurt. Not a person who cannot bear to be at a loss.
A person who can yield for Christ, a person who knows they have everything in Christ. The One Who can wait when they’re treated unfairly to see the plan of Christ. They cannot overcome without that. They have to do everything they can to quickly redeem themselves, and because of that, many generations will be hurt. The person may say they are correct but many people will be hurt. It is not about being correct but waiting until God resolves it, and nobody can stop it. People who say incorrect things, saying they’re right, will be ashamed, and the kids must see this.
If they’ve never experienced this, how can they go out into the world and wait? In the world, the standard is evil, and Jesus Christ is not for them. So until the time comes, the kids will be wishy washy, but the Bible doesn’t say that. Joseph never toed the line, going this way and that to match people’s opinions. He had “only.” Even as he was treated unfairly, he went to prison without fighting about what’s right or wrong, he just wanted everything to be fulfilled. He organized everything as a governor and realized Poitphar’s wife’s lie was part of God’s plan.
We’re talking about people who can be patient and wait because of their faith, not waiting for anything; that’s cancer. Today, someone told me they have cancer, so I said, “I’ll pray for you,” and they’re not even a member of our church, and the individual knows themselves why they have cancer. Before they received cancer, they had many invisible problems, and they didn’t think of it as urgent until now, and that becomes a new beginning.
Because of this, they go all into Christ, and that’s training for the future generation. They say the kids are so great, the student was #1 in Johns Hopkins meaning they were at a very high level, and even the professors say, “If you are first in Johns Hopkins, you’re first in the world,” but they had an unspeakable problem, and that was this blessing. They were so good at studying that they had a scholarship to Johns Hopkins and they could study without money, but if they never had a problem, they would never go before Christ. That’s God’s blessing. If they had no problem and had all the abilities, that is a curse.
I told them this, I didn’t tell them this to comfort them; it is God’s plan. How do you guys see it? Do you think your kids don’t have problems because they don’t have problems? If anything, that is the greater problem. God gives us problems to intercede with us, or there is a problem but you’re not able to see it. People are just like that, they go before God because of their problems, and there is a plan for the parents and the kids. That is God’s method.
If anything, if there are no problems at all, that may be more dangerous, but if there is a problem and you don’t see it, that’s a greater problem. If there is an invisible problem that explodes, we’re shocked. They think they have no problems and can’t see it, that’s the greater problem. If anything, the problem revealed while young is better. That doesn’t mean we should purposely seek out problems, but if God has allowed this problem, don’t you think that’s God’s plan? If Christ is within this person, isn’t that heaven? Life and death are in God’s hands. What are you so afraid of?
If we don’t believe in God and have unbelief inside of us, Satan holds onto us. That’s what we call a spiritual problem. You face these different circumstance but the situation itself is not a problem. You don’t trust God in that situation, that’s the severe problem. Moment by moment, you face problems and go into problems because of your nature. Last week, Assistant Pastor came to talk to me about Hannah. Whenever she lies to her, her lips become so white. That’s just how we are, that’s a natural reaction to have when something unexpected happens.
When we face a problem, these are natural reactions. The truly important thing is, how quickly are we able to restore our faith and stand before God? But if you’re constantly worried and concerned, the demons will control you and then, we seem like we think so much and look this way and that, and the words we say may sound correct, but they are words of worry and from Satan. Every person is like that. How quickly are you able to change the spiritual things to acknowledge God’s sovereignty and stand before God? that’s the difference.
I said, “Is it true she has received salvation?” “Yes.” “Then leave her alone, there’s nothing you can do anyway. The Holy Spirit will guide her from within her. None of our kids have experienced the Three Organizations, how great is it for her to experience that? God allowed her to experience it, why are you shaking in fear? It is okay because she has Christ and God does it,” and this is the faith that is relayed; if you’re nervous in unbelief, that is relayed and transcends time and space. It’s about prayer, not about talking. Your spiritual state is relayed, overcoming time and space. That is how demon-possessed people will transcend time and space to give evil spirits to people in Korea.
Your faith gets relayed to your children, every person is weak. That is why we need Christ.
We do not need Christ because of money, but because of the constant and visible unbelief, and this faith is bound to be relayed to your children. That is why the Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The only thing that can save the Spirit are the words of Jesus Christ, and the words of Jesus Christ say He has finished everything. Everything is finished, those are the words that save me.
It doesn’t matter how much you shove the words of the Bible in someone’s face, that hasn’t solved anything. It doesn’t matter how much you talk about grace, hope, and love. Everyone who studies theology can use the same words, but if it’s not finished for them, Satan knows that. The Lord said He finished everything on the cross, He finished the problem, then what is God’s plan within this? Depending on how quickly you turn to this will determine whether you’re dragged by Satan or following God.
One person like this in the family is sufficient. The real problem is unbelief. If you have faith, everyone is saved. It’s the same in the church. Everyone says anything they want based on their experiences. That’s normal, they’ve lived in the world like that until now, but we need one person with faith. That is how to save the others. You need to save the people who say smart words. People think their experiences are everything. Save such people and have pity on them. That is how people come to life. Don’t argue about what’s right or wrong.
Learn the things of the world, but that’s just the introduction. You need to have the skill to save yourself, the family, and the world with the words of Jesus Christ. God desired to save the world so He will use this person. From that point on, even if you don’t ask for anything, God will give you everything because you’re the person who saves. Whatever you accomplish with hard work is your accomplishment; God works irrespective of you to save.
The Temple Construction to save. If you truly hold to the covenant then God is bound to move. Why? Because look at the other religious organizations, what do you think happens whenever they pray? Last week, I spoke to Pastor Kim during lunch, and his wife and he went to Salt Lake City. Whenever they go there, her wife cannot move for a few days because she gets a migraine. You don’t know why her head hurts, do you? Mormons pray so much, and demons move. Because they went to that region, they felt the demons move.
What are Catholics doing in your region? They are praying. Whenever they pray, there is a different influence it has through that region, like depression or headaches, then what is the work the church must do? It is the Temple. We must put our whole life into that. It is not just any building, it is a Temple that saves the spiritual things. It is not just a regional church, but a regional church that saves the region, and if you know this, even if no one tells you, you will gather.
Isn’t that normal? If you know the state of the region, you will gather, but if you don’t and you try to gather, it won’t go well. If you gather because of the environment, when the feeling drops, you’ll stop. If you know the spiritual state, you will go for the rest of your life. We don’t go because someone tells us to. If you know the spiritual state of the region, you’ll know why God allowed you to live there. The regional church is the method to block the spiritual disasters and problems in the region. Such a person has received many blessings.
Yes it’s possible to gather if you coerce people, but if they’re forced, they’re already afflicted without even realizing how. The blessing is to enjoy the blessing to save them.
Let us pray together holding onto the word we have received. “God, save me. Allow me to save the church and the world. I believe the only way to save is not the words of people, but the words of Christ, and when we pray holding onto the word, we believe the works of saving will take place in your region, church, and when you meet with people.
