The Prayer Jesus Taught (Mt. 6:1-15)

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God

The Prayer Jesus Taught (Mt. 6:1-15)

Speaker Pastor Dusun Park | Interpreter Tiffany Han

Let us bless one another, “Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God.”  I hope that today will be the worship of the greatest blessing. Jesus Christ personally came to Earth and gave the Sermon on the Mount which is the Word of Mt. 5-7. Even right now, we are receiving Jesus’ Word and living with it. However, the issue is , if we understand God’s Word according to our thoughts or our experience, we will misunderstand it. In other words, if we look at the Word of God using our experiences from the world or using common sense, we cannot understand it at all. If you think about the prayer that Jesus Christ is teaching us through the Word today in the way you pray, it will be a big problem. Because before we met God, we were people who lived as the center of our own lives. Everything was according to my standards, where I decide what is good and what is evil. So even when we thought about or understood prayer, it was about what “I wanted” or what “I needed.” But that is the prayer that any general religious person will have.

But what is the prayer Jesus is telling us about? It is the prayer God desires. If you pray, you’re bound to receive answers, and if you’re not, there are different reasons. I’m not talking about when you’re waiting for God’s time schedule to come, but no matter how much you pray, you’re not receiving answers. For those people, I hope you will quickly change yourself. Instead of trying to change God, you must change yourself.

Then what is the prayer that Jesus Christ taught us? First, Jesus is teaching us about these three things: giving to the needy, prayer, and fasting.

1. In front of God

  1) In front of people

Jesus Christ is telling us “Do not do those things in order to reveal ourselves in front of people.” because this person has already done those things with that motive, they’ve received that reward already. Instead, do those things before God. Then God will reward you. So Christians should not try to reveal themselves.

    (1) Do not practice your righteousness (Mt. 6:1)

In the news, we see people of different religions doing many great things, but we don’t see many Christians because we don’t reveal what we’re doing.

    (2) Do not give to the needy  (Mt. 6:2)

    (3) They have received their reward in full (Mt. 6:2)

  2) In front of people

    (1) Prayer – The hypocrites (Mt. 6:5)

Even when you pray, do not pray in front of other people. The longer you walk your walk of faith, the more you pay attention to other people. Even when you pray, you write down the prayer that will give grace to other people. There are some people who keep repeating the same things again and again, so do not have a repetitive prayer.

Every religion has prayer, but if you look at the pattern of those prayers, if you keep repeating the same things, you’ll get what you want. Every religion has something like that. Strangely, Christians aren’t able to pray. Or in the past, they prayed a lot, but once they receive what they wanted, they stop praying. I don’t think that’s wrong. Yes, it is not correct, but it might be part of the process.

    (2) They have received their reward in full (Mt. 6:5)

    (3) Do not keep on babbling (Mt. 6:7)

  3) In front of God

    (1) Giving – In secret (Mt. 6:4)

    (2) Prayer – To God (Mt. 6:6)

That’s what happened to the disciples as well, they were not able to pray until they experienced Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection.  Before Jesus Christ died on the cross, He prayed to God three times, and He asked His disciples to pray with Him, but they could not. They said, “The heart is willing but the flesh is weak,” why is that? I think that is a rightful time schedule they went through. Are you able to pray naturally, or are you forcing yourself to pray? Either way, what is this prayer?

Whatever God is doing in my life as an answer and His Word, that is prayer. Today, what is the content with which you will pray to God?

    (3) God will reward you (Mt. 6:4,6)

    (4) Knows what you need (Mt. 6:8)

In Mt. 6:8, before Jesus Christ teaches the disciples how to pray, He already tells them, “Your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him.” This means, do not pray for unnecessary things. “I already know everything, so don’t pray for unnecessary things.” If there are unnecessary prayers, that means there are necessary prayers.

2. Prayer

  1) Religion

    (1) Things of the earth

God is saying, “Do not pray for the earthly things.”

    (2) Things for me

Do not pray for the things for yourself.

    (3) Things for us

Do not pray for things for “us.” All of those things are things of the earth, in other words, physical things. But the Bible tells us to pray in different ways, like “Seek and you will find,” and “Ask and you will receive.” That means there must be a prayer that God desires and will answer. If you’re not receiving answers even though you pray, you must quickly change that.

If you think that prayer is praying for the things you need and want in the world, then the Lord would not have to explain this. However, you shouldn’t be disappointed because the disciples were like that as well. They were never able to pray, and even though they wanted to pray, they could not.  When were they able to start praying?

  2) Experience the Gospel

    (1) It is finished (Jn. 19:30)

After Jesus Christ died on the cross and resurrected, in other words, after the disciples experienced the gospel, then they were able to pray.  Only once they experienced what it meant to crucify all their problems of their lives on the cross were they able to pray prayers that were not for themselves.

    (2) Christ – United (Death, Resurrection) (Gal. 2:20)

They said, “I have been crucified on the cross with my Lord and now I am living with my Lord.” The “me” that has been crucified is talking about the life I lived, trying to be my own god, and if I am resurrected with the Christ, it means my new life is me living with Christ as my Lord.

    (3) Guidance of Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:14)

From that point on, the spirit of Christ, the spirit of our Lord, is living within us.  In Romans 8:14-15, it says we have not received a spirit of fear or slavery, but you have received a spirit of sonship by which we can call out, “Abba, Father.”  There are no other religions that use the word, “Father,” except for the Unification religion, they use the word, “Father,” but especially for the Jewish people, they were never able to use the name of God or call Him “Father.” Even in the book of Matthew who spoke to the Jews, they could not say the “Kingdom of God,” but they said, “The Kingdom of heaven,” and Jesus is teaching the disciples to pray like this.

  3) Prayer Jesus taught

    (1) Our Father in heaven (Mt. 6:9)

We must pray, “Our Father who art in heaven.”  The reason we’re able to use the word, “Father,” is that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of sonship, has come into us and made us into His children. The prayer Jesus Christ is teaching in these Bible verses is how we should pray after Jesus Christ dies on the cross, but there are some people who can never call God, “Father,” and that’s because the Spirit of Christ has not yet come into them.  Only once the Spirit of Christ has come into them, the spirit of sonship, can they call out, “Father, God.”

It says here, “Our Father in heaven,” and the fact that He is in heaven is talking about the throne of heaven from where He is controlling everything. The One who is controlling everything seated at the Throne of Heaven is not only my Father, but our Father.  If you keep saying, “My Father,” you’re going to get into fights, “He’s only my Father, and He only told me this, not you,“ but instead He is “our Father.” And that’s why Immanuel means, “God with us,” and that’s why He has given us the Church.

But if you don’t understand the church, you’re only going to talk about “me, me,” and those words may sound correct but they’re not. I have my physical body, but we’re all together in the church.  “Our Father,” Who is in heaven, Who created me, our Father Who controls and moves everything even now. Col. 1:16 says everything was created by Him, through Him, and exists for Him.  Inside of that work of God, I have become a child of God.

    (2) Hallowed be your name (Mt. 6:9)

The second part, “Hallowed be your name.”  We reveal ourselves through our name, even God reveals His name.  His name being holy means His name is set apart, it means that He is different from any other God.  He is a God Who is different from any other religion.  If we do not accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are worshiping another God.

Why is it that Christianity is so limited?  It’s not that, but Jesus Christ is God. He is the God Who came on the earth in the form of a human, died on the cross, and resurrected and is living with us now through the Holy Spirit, and therefore, without Jesus Christ, we cannot go to God.  It is not limited or being narrow-minded, it is talking about the unique way. Even if you’re a salesman, there is a product that is incomparable to any other product, then the other shops will say, “Are you the only one who sells this?” No, it’s not the only one, but it’s the only one.  Jesus Christ is the only unique way, God Himself who has come to earth. I’m not talking badly about any other religion; I’m just saying that Jesus is the Way.  “Hallowed be your name,” means He is different. The name of Jesus Christ that I call upon is a different name. It is a name that is connected with the throne of heaven.  The name of Jesus Christ is the name that breaks down the forces of darkness on earth.  The name of His Father, Jesus Christ.

    (3) Your kingdom come (Mt. 6:10)

It says, “May Your Kingdom come,” God’s Kingdom talks about where God reigns.  Pray so that the One Who is reigned from the Throne of Heaven will now reign on earth.  This earth is the kingdom where Satan is controlling, that is why this is the first thing you must pray for.  Do you know how Satan is controlling the earth? He doesn’t just reveal himself in scary ways.  In Gen. 3, Satan says, “You will be like God,” he makes this go into your heart.  The way that Satan controls is so that we no longer believe in the true God, but making ourselves the standard of our own life, as if we are our own God.  That’s why, if your pride is hurt, you don’t think about anything else.  If somebody offends you, you don’t think about anything else. That is the way the devil controls us.  If this goes into the church, then we have division.

“The pastor hurt my pride, he was attacking me through his message.”  There’s only two options there: either they don’t believe in God at all, or they’re not receiving God’s grace. God’s Kingdom must come upon me, the Kingdom of Christ must reign upon me and be established upon me, then the darkness will be cast out, and when you pray, this is the first thing you must pray for.

Stop praying for things that will not happen, but the prayers that will happen. Do not pray for the things of the earth, but for the fundamental things of heaven.  If we don’t do that, then we live our walk of faith and pray to establish our own kingdom. If you’re praying to establish your own plans, desires, and standards, that is the kingdom of Satan.  That’s the reason why humans were destroyed in Gen. 3, that is the reason people were destroyed in Genesis 6, they had their own image of the life they dreamed of, and they sought to fulfill it.  In Gen. 11, the people gathered together and said, “Let us gather our strength to become as high as God Himself,” and that was the human ambition and greed that destroyed them.

Therefore, it is not about my kingdom, but it is the kingdom of God to be established.  But if you don’t have that, you have to reign over your own kingdom. Humans have no other choice. Even though God exists, you are moving your own life.  However, if by the power of the Holy Spirit, you cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. How does Satan and demons work?  He makes it so that we become the center of our own lives.  He works differently upon us than he does on shamans and fortune tellers. Satan works differently upon churches than upon idol-worshiping temples. He deceives us, and that is why we pray for God’s Kingdom to be established. You must entrust everything to Christ so that the Kingdom of Christ rules over you.

If you are worried about something, that means you haven’t entrusted it. If you’re afraid, you haven’t entrusted it.  Because you’re trying to accomplish your own kingdom, you’re afraid.  1 Peter 5:7 says Satan will charge at them like a roaring lion, so I hope you will pray this prayer.

3. Prayer Jesus taught

  1) Will

    (1) Done in heaven (Mt. 6:10)

Then He says to pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.  God’s Kingdom has already been determined in heaven.  He has already set His master plan in heaven, and when you pray for that, pray for that to be established on earth.  Instead of living by your own will, pray for the will of God to be revealed in your own life.  Whenever you’re in the midst of problems, crises, or incidents, pray this prayer.  But we say it’s a problem if things don’t work out the way we want, and we call it a crisis if things are not happening the way we want. Instead of praying to break through that, pray instead to find God’s will.

If someone is not living their walk of faith well, they’re trying to break through everything with their own strength and dedication. They have to do overnight prayer, the 40-day concentration prayers; they have to break through, but they’re the only ones being destroyed.  God’s will has already been determined in heaven, and it will be revealed on earth according to His time schedule.  Whenever you face a problem, an incident, conflict, or a crisis, you must find God’s will.

    (2) Done on earth (Mt. 6:10)

“If only I wasn’t born in this family, I would’ve been better,” but there is God’s will in that.  If only I had not met this person, my life wouldn’t be like this,” but there is God’s plan there.  “If only I had not received this scar in my life, my life would’ve been different,” but God has a will in that scar. The Christ Who existed before eternity allowed our past; it is all being fulfilled in God’s master plan. So prayer is easy because you’re finding what will be fulfilled.  The reason why prayer is hard for you is because you’re trying to break through something that doesn’t exist.  Because you’re forcing your prayers to try to accomplish what you desire, it is a difficult road of endurance.

If you look at religions, they have a pattern they set for prayers. They turn their prayer beads and repeat the same prayers, they’ve created this pattern in order to help people pray.  Then they say the result will be that you get what you want.  That’s the pattern of prayer in every religion.  It’s the same thing as prayer beads where you pray the same beads, praying for 108 times; they say if you pray enough, you’ll get it, and that’s how you think about prayer, but that is not the prayer Jesus Christ taught us.

    (3) Father’s will – Receiving eternal life (Jn. 6:40)

If you have become a child of God and God has become your Father, your prayers are different.  “God, why am I going to this church?” You must find His will. “God, why am I doing this business?” You must find God’s will. In other words, you must find God’s plan, then everything will come to you as an answer.  God has a plan for even the failures of our past.  That failure is not a problem. If you receive God’s answer,  it will have nothing to do with you, isn’t that right?  The reason you’re afraid is because you’re afraid to fail.

Heb. 2:14-15 says we live our lives under the fear of death.  Why are we seized by the fear of death?  It’s because you’re the master of your own life, and it’s because you don’t know the eternal things.  We need to acknowledge we’re living with Christ, and we will live for eternity, to escape from that fear.  You’re afraid of dying whenever you fail.  Satan controls you with this fear, “If I reveal my embarrassing and shameful aspects to other people, my life is over,” and that’s why you hide yourself so much.  Because you think your life is over if you reveal your weakness and lackings to others.

The church is not a place like that; the church is a place where we boast of our weaknesses.  “Because I’m like this, Christ has given me the grace like this,“ that is how you boast of Christ, by boasting of your weakness. But the Jewish people boasted of their perfection. “I believe like this, I pray like this, I do it like this,” but Jesus Christ taught them and called them out. On the inside, they are a rotting, dying, and diseased corpse, but on the outside, they have embalmed themselves with linen.  The reason you keep on pretending to be so strong is so you can hide your weakness before other people.  The characteristic of those people is that they will get angry easily because they will try to package their weakness with their anger.  They say strange, almost threatening things, because they are hiding the weakness inside of them, but if someone is truly strong, they don’t have to say words like that.

If someone has incredible wealth, they can dress however they want, but if someone is not like that, they have to hide the things that are lacking inside to create this outer form. But the more you receive this grace of Jesus Christ, the more your weakness will be revealed.  Paul says, “When I am weakest, I am strongest.”

Patients need a doctor. Because we are weak, God must work upon us.  But if you keep on trying to be strong, “Make me strong, make my family strong,” then you are building your house on sand; it is not strength. That’s something that will all burn up when it catches on fire. You must raise yourself up on the rock of Jesus Christ so that everything comes from only within Christ, so that you are living your life and raising your family only for Christ.  After time passes, everything will come from within that.  God is the God Who fulfills our needs.  Even if we don’t ask for anything, God already knows and will reveal it according to the time schedule, then what is God’s will?

John 6:40 says, “My Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life.” We pray, “May your will be done, I entrust this to the Lord,” but where do you think He will take that? He will take that to the direction of saving lives.  God will guide us in the direction of missions, evangelism, and world evangelization to the 237 nations.  Everything in our lives, including our talents, our specialization, our professions, is being given as an answer in God’s time schedule for evangelization.

Paul didn’t try to fill his pockets with money, but he said, “I have everything,” because all his answers came from heaven according to God’s time schedule, so Paul said, “I have everything.”  The people of the world will look at him and say, “He is a homeless beggar, he has nothing,” those are the different eyes of the world. For the eyes of the people of the world, they need to gather a lot of things.  Because they do not believe in Jesus Christ, they have to gather and save things for themselves. I’m not saying right now that having a lot of money is bad, but I’m saying, what is the main goal towards which you seek in your life? The things of the earth will be given in God’s time schedule, but you need to know this age well in order for businesspeople to receive God’s answers.  If you’re just blindly asking God to give you things, you’re just like another religious believer, but if you remain within God’s plan, then God will work, already knowing everything. The success that takes place like that is the success that glorifies God.

  2) Daily bread (Mt. 6:11)

Now God is telling us to pray for us and people, and to give us our daily bread.  If God already knows what we need, why do we pray for this? “Our daily bread” means whatever we need for today. Why is it only for today? Because we don’t know about tomorrow. God gives us what we need every day, in other words, God gives you what you need, and there’s a spiritual meaning as well.  God says, “Your ancestors ate manna in the desert and still died, but you will eat the bread of life and have eternal life.”

    (1) Physical bread

    (2) Spiritual bread – Give life (Jn. 6:33)

That spiritual bread is the bread of life in the world, John 6:33.  If you just eat all you want physically but your spirit is dying, then you’re dead.

    (3) Jesus’s flesh and blood – Life (Jn. 6:54)

John 6:54 says, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks the blood of Christ has eternal life.”  In other words, when Jesus Christ gives you the daily bread, it means, of course, God will give you the physical bread for the day, but also, every day, think about Jesus’ death and resurrection on the cross for the spiritual bread. You need to know this very well and pray the prayer the Lord wants.

If you look at somebody’s prayer, you can tell immediately whether or not they’ve experienced the gospel. Or if someone is not able to pray, it means they have not experienced the gospel yet.  There was a time schedule where Simon Peter was unable to pray, and that was before he was able to experience Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection on the cross.  There are some people who pray, but they pray for their high positions and ambitions.  Those prayers are completely unnecessary. Sure, it might not be a bad thing to pray for them, but they’re not necessary. I hope you don’t take that  to mean, “We don’t need to pray.”

It doesn’t matter what you pray; we will receive answers, but the standard of prayers is not what I want or not want.  God answers us according to His will and power.  If somebody says they’re not receiving answers to prayer, it is because they’re interpreting the answers according to what they want.  Do you guys know Chinese Checkers?  If you look at a beginner’s level, they just try to eat the pieces in front of them, but if you look at advanced players, they put their pieces far away on the board. The beginner level players may ask, “Why are they doing that?” However, after time passes, all of the beginner’s pieces will be eaten up.  We pray, “God, give me this and that,” but that’s like the beginner Chinese Checkers player. Whenever you pray, God works with His Holy Spirit.

For people who pray, “Give me this,” they think they do not need the working of the Holy Spirit, but as time passes, the one with the Holy Spirit will work.  That’s what happens, the more you are marinated or ripened in your faith. Even if someone believes for a long time, they’re still at a beginner level, and if you meet someone like that, they will be suffering because they think everything they see with their eyes before them are everything.  However, the Lord works with His Holy Spirit, working in your entire life whenever you pray. Even the things not working out the way I want them to are an answer, and as time passes, you’ll see that this is right.

  3) Sin, temptation, evil

    (1) Forgive our debtors – Forgive us our debts (Mt. 6:12)

Next, Jesus tells us to pray to forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. This is not talking about a condition where, “If you forgive this person, then I’ll forgive you.”  This is something Jesus is telling the people who already believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to resolve all of our sins and curses.  Because you have already been forgiven, you should also forgive those who are indebted to you or have sinned against you.  Then He is saying, “I will forgive the consequential sins you commit.”

Even if you fight against your husband or wife, you cannot come to worship. If you have a fight with someone in the world and then you come to worship, you won’t be able to worship. Yes, you may sit here, but the Holy Spirit is not working. That’s what this means; you must forgive the person, then first, you’ll be able to worship. Worship is not simply sitting here, you must worship in spirit and in truth, meaning you worship with the working of the Holy Spirit and you receive God’s Word, and if Jesus says, “I will not forgive you,” it means “I will not work upon you with the Holy Spirit.”  What God has given to us is perfect, so I hope you will forgive others.

No matter what that person has done, you must forgive that person and fight against the sin in them instead, and as you do that, you will receive freedom and liberation from your human relationships. Why do you not have any freedom in your human relationships?  It’s because you can’t forgive them. Why are you not able to forgive them? It’s because you haven’t realized the gospel and the tremendous forgiveness you have received from the Lord. You’re not able to forgive the person who scarred you in your past, right?  You’re especially unable to forgive the enemy who has destroyed your entire family, right? How could you forgive them? You’re unable to. You need to first receive the fact that you have been forgiven.

Next, you need to realize it was not that person, but instead, they were moved by incorrect things, the sins and evil things that Satan had placed in that person.  So, we’re not fighting against the person themselves, but the incorrect things Satan placed within them.  But the devil is working so you fight with the people within your family and the church.  The devil does not only exist in demon-possessed people, he is inside the church, as well.  You think that just because you talk about the Christ, you’re freed from the devil, but no; a gospel that is not able to forgive others is bound to be possessed by demons.

Romans 16:20 says to make Satan kneel under your feet.  Because there are conflicts between people in the church, you must make Satan kneel underneath your feet.  There are times when families created out of love will turn into hate, why? Because you’re unable to understand how tremendous the love of this gospel and the cross is.

In the Bible, there’s a parable where someone was forgiven of their debt of 10,000 talents, which is more than someone can earn in their entire life, and yet they’re shaking and beating down someone who owes them 100 denari, which is only about a year’s wages, and that is a parable to say, “You have received forgiveness for an entire lifetime of original sin that you could not pay back, yet you are beating someone up for something they did to you in a personal way.”  If you think about someone, there’s hatred towards that person, right? Especially the person who has hurt you. You hate them, right? That’s the masterpiece of the devil.

Satan has planted something evil inside that person and made them move.  That person was deceived themselves, and that person did not receive this from out of nowhere, they received something from their family.  That’s what it means to fight to the very end against sin. You must not fight against the person.  That person is not the problem, it’s what is inside of that person that is the problem. But the Lord has saved us and He has forgiven us.  If you do not heal your scars and your relationships with other people with the gospel, then no amount of counseling or therapy can resolve that.

If this is fulfilled inside your job or your field, you’ll be set apart from other people, and others will say, “There’s something different or weird about this person,” and that’s what it  means to overcome evil with good, to heap hot coals on that person’s head.  But what the world tells you is, “You need to repay them 100 times more, so they can never do something like this again,” and that’s what we pray as well, “God, just trample that person.” But that’s not what the Lord desires. “God, change the things that are inside of this person, and save this person.”  That’s why God allowed this to happen.  God has given you this problem so you can turn it into God’s correct plan of saving people, that’s the important plan of God for missions and evangelism.

    (2) Temptation, evil – Deliver (Mt. 6:13)

It says, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.”  God may test us, but the devil tempts us, and we must pray so we are not tempted.  Even to Jesus Christ, Satan gave Him three temptations in Matthew 4.  That is the same thing Satan tempted humans with in Genesis 3. “You will be like God.” That comes into my thoughts and heart, that is my temptation.  From that point on, everything changes to be the standard of yourself.  Because we can all fall into that temptation, pray so you don’t, because that temptation is falling into evil.

Someone is not evil because they do evil things, but already beginning their life with a standard that is set and based on themselves, that is the start of evil, and that’s why evil things keep crawling and getting attached to you, because you’ve already begun with me-centeredness.

    (3) Kingdom, power, glory – Forever to God (Mt. 6:13)

May the Kingdom, the power, and the glory be to God forever, amen.  Of course, that’s rightful, all the power, Kingdom, and glory will be with the Lord forever, not with us.  But if you misunderstand the gospel, it feels like you’re moving things yourself, but that’s not it.  God is moving everything centered on the Triune God, then what are we?  God created us to reveal God’s glory, but there are some people who are very offended by that, but that’s being demon-possessed.

The devil does not want to give glory to God; he wants to take glory from God.  Everything was created by God and everything is revealed through God, and all of creation exists for Him.  If we talk about all of creation, it begins with us and everything we do on earth and in heaven, so of course, all the glory should go back only to Him.  That is how we must pray.  But if we don’t teach this prayer, you’re going to have the incorrect idea of prayer, where you pray for yourself and the things you want in the world, trying to gain more strength to get what you want? That’s not prayer.

That is why after Jesus Christ resurrected, He told his disciples to pray for God’s Kingdom to be established.  He says, “First, pray for God’s Kingdom to be established.”  If we want to talk about physical wars, there’s a war between Russia and Ukraine, so it matters what country establishes their land first, and that’s why Russia is planting their flags in three territories in Ukraine. They are claiming the land and spreading their nation. So we need to first start by praying for God’s Kingdom to be established here, that’s how the kingdom of the devil will be broken down.

How is this established? Only when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  Only when the Holy Spirit of Christ comes upon you and your field will the Kingdom of God be established. This is how Jesus Christ taught the disciples to pray after He resurrected.  Then in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus Christ said, “If you have a new believer come in, teach them everything I have taught you, and have them arise as a disciple.”  But if a believer doesn’t know this, then they cannot teach this to new believers.  Instead of going to the pastor and always asking, “What should I do here, what should I do there?” You need to take what you have learned with your answers and teach it to new believers.  Sop continuously talking from everything you think and you’ve experienced, but instead, take what the Lord has taught you in His Word and the answers he has given you, and teach that to new believers.

What is a blessing?  Because you have an incorrect idea of blessings, teach them correctly.  Going to Christ and believing in Christ is the blessing.  Teach them that.  The people of the world keep talking about the blessings of the world, the one who is blessed will be the light and the salt of the earth.  Then teach them what it means to not murder others or to not commit adultery.  If you don’t teach them how to love their enemy and how to not resist or seek revenge, then the people are bound to do that because that’s what they teach you in the world.

Teach them exactly how the Lord has taught them to pray. They don’t have to pray, “Give me this, give me that,” like the religions in the world, but the churches are doing all they can to make people pray. It’s all useless because they first must experience the gospel. If they haven’t experienced the gospel, they cannot say, “Father God,” from their lips. Only when they experience, “I have died on the cross and now the Lord Christ lives within me will they stop seeking the things of the earth and start seeking the things of heaven.”  Starting from today, I hope you and I will save people with the correct prayers the Lord is teaching us today.

Conclusion

1. Only Christ

2. Only Kingdom of God

3. Only Holy Spirit

Message Prayer

Let us hold onto the Word together and pray, then you will receive answers.

Offering Prayer and Newcomer Prayer

God, we thank You. Thank You for giving us the gospel which this world does not know.  We pray that You will allow us to experience the gospel through the prayer the Lord has taught us to save many people.

We have returned our material blessings You have given to us as offering.  We pray that wherever this offering is used, God’s Kingdom and will will be established.  We pray that the works and the saving of souls and the 237 nations and the 5000 unreached tribes  will take place.  We pray You will give us the blessing of Temple Construction as well for this, and we believe You will give the answer of the economy of light upon the hands of those who have given this offering. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

Benediction

Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the unending love of God, and the indwelling, working, guidance, and communion of the Holy Spirit, be upon all the people of God, the multiethnic people, and the remnants who desire to do the prayer the Lord desires, be with them from now until forevermore always, amen.
