The Lifestyle of the Evangelist
Evangelism is how God works directly in our lives. If you do not understand evangelism, then you cannot understand the Bible. God comes into the life as a human being and does His work through us, so if you don’t understand evangelism, you lose the Word of God in your life and you do not understand God. Evangelism is not about persuading someone from their own perspective. Evangelism is the ministry that God does by Himself by working through me. You have to enjoy that through faith, and this is the time to change all your incorrect imprint, root, and nature.
We have the imprint, root, and nature of me, materialism, and success, so from this state, I’ll misunderstand God’s Word, so keep listening. As you listen, you’ll realize how you misunderstood this and you’ll get confused, “It seemed like I knew this but I don’t know this,” and until this point, you didn’t even know that you should be confused. Evangelism is God’s ministry to you, and you have to remain within this; otherwise you’re not aligned with God’s direction, then you’re aligned with the devil who lies, and our lives are spent in lies.
People spend their entire lives making money and then they die. The only thing that remains is nothing, because our bodies will physically die. All you spend is on your studies, and so the next generation is dying because they’re so drummed up by money and worldly success. Because they’re caught up in Satan’s lies, they think Satan is correct, but what is the true problem of the world? Not having enough money? The coronavirus pandemic? Sure, all of those could be problems, but the real problem is not believing in God.
No matter how smart you may sound, if you’re speaking Satan’s lies, you won’t be able to distinguish lies from truth. People themselves are caught up by lies, but Christ says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and there is no other way. Christ is the Truth. If you remain within Christ, God will give you the Truth and you will come to life. That is why He says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
When people study a lot, they get diseased as they stake their lives on their studies thinking, “This is the truth.” They don’t stake their lives on God, but the smarter they are, the more they are oppressed as they are so self-centered. It’s the same with having a lot of money, and you believe in that. Even though you have a lot of money, you have these problems, and you can’t solve them; you can’t solve your children’s problems. Everyone is diseased and dying, what kind of money do you need? If your life is called away from you now, why would you need money?
These problems get passed down repeatedly because there isn’t one person who knows that correctly in their family line. They die after spending an entire life being self-centered. They die after saying, “Me, me, me,” and that’s how much people are being seized by Satan. What is the problem of life?
Satan, Sin, Separation
Satan keeps tempting you with sin so that you cannot be with God, and he makes you always separated from God. What does this mean? These are spiritual words. It is not money or the things you see with your eyes; it means your spiritual state is far away from meeting God and our spiritual state is far from God’s Word, then what are you close to? You’re closely related to your thoughts and on people’s words, and you’re concentrated on the things you see with your eyes. This is the problem of life.
Only Christ
Not the things you see with your eyes, but the problem is the invisible spiritual state. You can’t solve this by working hard, but it’s only Chirst. These are the three things that Jesus did, so remaining within Jesus Christ means that all these problems are finished; that’s what it means to remain within Christ. Losing hold of this, your spiritual state goes backwards. You’ve been saved but you go back to your self-centeredness. Enjoy the fact that Christ has finished everything but you are stuck in your circumstances, your sin, your age, then what do you do? You just live like that, stuck in your thoughts. “My health is so bad,” then remain like that. But if you remain in Christ, nothing can overcome you; yet, you’re always about yourself, so that’s why even in your family, it’s about you, and you never say anything about Christ.
Me, Materialism, Success
The spiritual state that comes from this follows your own thoughts and standards; it’s not about God’s Word. It’s always about money, “I’m going to die without money,” that’s not what you’re saying, but you’re in unbelief being separated from God, and God will give it to you as you need it. Listen carefully because even if it doesn’t come to you, it will come to your kids. You must have strength to relay this to your children, but you keep thinking you’re old. What does that mean? God could call you to heaven but since God hasn’t yet, there is a work that God is continually doing in you. Escape from your self-centeredness and hold onto the covenant that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God.
Then what happens? You’re blessed, being centered on Christ in your heart. Everything is centered on Christ, and when you face a problem, you don’t think about it, but you ask God what He is saying through it. Without Christ, you have your own thoughts and make judgments based on what you see with your eyes, and you lose this blessing. Satan is completely controlling your thoughts and mind, and you’re mentally paralyzed as Satan seizes you, and your normal emotions can’t come out. You have bipolar so your emotions fluctuate throughout the day, and even as you stand still, you get panic attacks. Nobody gave it to you; you do it to yourself as you go back into the state of the fundamental problems and Satan plays with you as much as he wants. You stay still because you’re afraid, why? Because you remain within these fundamental problems. So you live your life crying by yourself, suffering.
Christ, Rock, Church
Christ is the Rock, and if it is Christ, nothing can knock us down. Then Christ builds the church, people come to life and have the fruit of evangelism. You’re not interested in evangelism, but you’re interested in money; you have to repent. You’re never worried about evangelism and the prayer to save the region and the meetings to save people, but you go into unnecessary meetings. You have no interest in saving people but you are greedy because your spiritual state is back in Satan, Sin, and Separation, then the devil will bind you and you will get angry about life. You say, “Forget about it,” and you’ll drink. You have no patience to endure, so you explode, and you’re cutting off relationships with other people.
Hades
You make this for yourself, “Why is the world like this?” It’s not the world, you have to go into the love of God, not the world. So, the problem isn’t the world, but you must go into the answer that solves the problems of the world, and the gates of Hades will not overcome you. Satan won’t end, he’ll be active until Jesus comes back, and you can’t break free unless it is by Christ.
People die from things like liver cancer, and you can’t stop these kinds of family curses by becoming a doctor. My mom told me, “It doesn’t work out.” Everything you see won’t work out. She never once said that things work out; things only don’t work out. These words are correct; no matter how much you try, it doesn’t work out. What are the states of the unbeliever? When you’re caught up in God’s Word, you won’t head towards disasters, but otherwise, it won’t work out. It’s not about being diligence; you can’t break that curse unless it is only Christ. It’s not about the physical problem or the disease, but it is about the background of the family.
It doesn’t work out; it’s always passed down, and my mom acknowledges this now as the state of the unbeliever. Why is it that things keep not working out? My mom lived her entire life and repeated it as her mantra, the confession of her life. You must remain within Christ for all this to work out and the forces of darkness to be broken down. If you, one person, receive the gospel, you can save your family line, but people live religious lives focused on success and money, so Satan plays with people’s lives like toys.
“I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven,” and God promised this today, that whatever you ask will be given to you. It is not about saying Jesus’ words, but it is remaining within the words of Jesus Christ. Anyone can say the words, but it is not about your own thoughts and words, but it is being stuck in Christ’s words. The things you see with your eyes are not the standard; but it is about God. Only then can you overcome the world and change your family background; otherwise you have no choice but to go into your family background because the spiritual things are real. Otherwise, it’s always about yourself and success and making money.
One day, the stream of the family line will take over you and even though you know God and go to church, you don’t remain in Christ’s words. Outside of Christ, there’s nothing that works out, and that’s my confession, so I always think that nothing will work out. As soon as I try to do something, it won’t work out. By Jesus Christ, I’ve been saved from that family line and my DNA has changed. I don’t know about you guys, maybe you’ve gone to church for a long time, but I wasn’t like that. I didn’t know what church was; I didn’t know what Jesus was, but my entire family line looked down on Christians because they seemed so weak. So, I didn’t even like Christians; I thought you had to be strong by yourself, why rely on God? All my friends were unbelievers because I wouldn’t like the believers. Their ideologies are so soft, “Why believe in God? Believe in your thoughts, yourself, and your righteousness.”
That was the old me, and my entire family was like that. This is the “me” that God changed. My friends keep coming up to me because my friends know me, and they’re shocked to see that I’m a pastor. All my friends know how much I used to drink, and our style was to drink a lot. Up until that point, I tried to live properly, but then I gave up knowing that everyone would die eventually. You know those people who cross the street in the middle of busy traffic? I was one of those people. They walk slowly, not avoiding the cars, but just going however they want to go. When you completely give up on life, you’re very brave. They don’t care if they’re hit by cars. Don’t be friends with people like that; you’ll fail like that, and that’s how I became.
I’ve shared this with you before, I was so burdened by my friend’s suicide and I couldn’t share the burden with others, so I’m very weak. When something like this happened, I couldn’t get over it; my style is that I can’t overcome it. So, what do you think would happen if I had a problem in my life? It was so difficult. God gave me the grace to use that incident so that I could meet God, but I think I’m the weakest person in the whole church. Because I’m so weak, I have no choice but to hold onto Christ. I’m not just saying it; I’m being real. When I have a problem, I get indigestion; I’m so weak, and if something is far off in the distance, I can’t pass it by.
The older you get, the bigger your problems become, so it’s in my DNA. When I was 30, I couldn’t even finish a pint of alcohol because my liver was so rotten. I was drinking every single night, and my liver never had time to recover as I was drinking 3-4 drinks every night. The toxins overtook me so that I couldn’t even drink, so I told this to my friend. While in the military, I would smoke four packs a day, and I was always nervous. How could someone like me live? That was just my style; others may be able to overcome things like this, but not me.
I was so nervous, next to the Korean border, and all the people under my command was wearing so much artillery. If something happened, I would have a lot of responsibility, so I was stressed by the people above me and below me. If I just wanted to live an average life, it would be fine, but I always wanted to be the best. I wanted recognition because I was good, but I was dying. The lady who gave so much money to KAIST said that if you make money, you’ll get cancer. She’s a journalist who graduated from Seoul National University. She had a discerning eye, and she invested money into law school. She said that businesspeople would absolutely get cancer because there wasn’t a single person she knew who was good at business and did not get cancer. This means we aren’t built to withstand the stress of business. You always have to worry and be stressed, so you’ll get cancer. Even now, she has cancer.
It seems like people are strong, but they are weak. I can’t even handle people saying a little thing; if I hear bad news, I can’t handle it. That’s how weak we are. Then, what do you think you can possibly do? Train your mind? You have to go into Christ, then Christ will protect you. That’s why it’s important to be where you are. If you’re inside the building, then no matter how much it rains outside, it doesn’t matter. It started snowing in Korea, but if you’re inside the building, it doesn’t matter; but being outside, you’ll have to endure the storms and blizzards.
People keep asking me questions, but if you’re inside of Christ, you’re okay. If you’re outside of Christ, there’s no method, and you won’t find it even though you keep asking for it. You’ll have to endure all the problems of life by yourself. You can only keep it up according to your ability, but if you are within Christ, your state becomes normal as the Word comes into you and the Holy Spirit will come into you and enable you to listen to the Word.
Even if you’re 90 years old, uneducated or educated, the Holy Spirit will make you understand the Word of God, and if you do your forum, even if you’re uneducated, you can share about the Word of God so accurately. Many people have PhDs but they’re always talking about themselves and the things they learned about the world; that’s why the Holy Spirit must help you remember the Word of God. Without understanding the Word, you dig into different translations. It’s not something you can dig into with your studies, but the Holy Spirit must help you understand.
Some people have the original translation of the Bible, but they have dark circles under their eyes because they’re afflicted. It’s not something you can find by digging; the Holy Spirit must reveal it to you. The Bible may have been written by people, but it was inspired by the Holy Spirit, so the only way to understand the Word of the Bible is to be inspired by the Holy Spirit yourself. If you try to understand by studying, you’ll have a misconception. “I’m so old and I can’t understand it,” but that’s a lie. You’ve just been centered on yourself and your thoughts are too strong, so the Word cannot go into you, then what will happen? The 70% of the water in your body is rotten, so your cells will get cancer. Your cancer will ruin your body, but you do it to yourself. You believe in yourself too much, and you exert yourself without the Word of God, and because of that, the only thing that remains is cancer and disease. You can’t even manage your body.
Within Christ. When you receive joy and happiness from God, you will change. I’ve heard the words that my face is looking younger. My face isn’t the standard. In the past, my face was so rotten. Now that I’m less sallow in my complexion, I seem younger now. I don’t even use lotion on my skin, I’m too lazy. One day, I put lotion on because everyone else was doing it, but now I’m lazy. Even though I don’t use lotion, because I’m happy from Jesus Christ, I’m not aging as quickly.
But no matter how much skincare you put on your face, you’ll have indigestion, when someone says something, you’ll be resentful and there’s no answer. First, you hate people, and as long as you don’t have the Word of God, you don’t have the answers. No matter how well you think about your own standards, there’s no answer because there is no Word of God, that’s why religion is not the answer. No matter how much you concede to other people, there’s no answer; you have to be within Christ.
Even if there is no pandemic, many are looking for the cure, but unless you have the Word of God within you, nothing can be the answer. Then you can give strength to other people through the Word of God. Why is something difficult? Because you think you’re alone. You’ve listened to the Word of God, but because you’re self-centered, you get confused. Even though you’ve heard the Word, you don’t know what to relay; but if it becomes your answer, you relay that as the answer. But you’re self-centered so you relay your own thoughts, and without a doubt, such people are mentally afflicted, becoming diseased, and their human relationships are becoming more difficult.
You think you’re going to die, stuck in your thoughts, and you’ll continue to die. If a person receives grace and they are within Jesus Christ, they will always want to relay it. A person would always want to relay it. If your kid graduated from Harvard, you’ll keep talking about that, “Hey, have you heard of Harvard University?” just so you can talk about your kid. But instead, you want to hide the gospel. Why don’t you want to relay it? Because you have your thoughts. If you graduated from Harvard, at least you would have something to talk about.
But in your region, people are dying. Do you know about the regional church? Are you afraid of relaying God’s Word? God is doing that work through the Word that you are doing. That should be your prayer topic. “God, attach Your Word to me so that I can give the Word to them.” But instead, “God, give me Your wisdom to study.” You’re just living with your own diligence, not to help God. “Why don’t You give me money?” Because if you receive money, you won’t do God’s work. That’s a religious person. Have the prayer topic to save lives. You have to remain within that stream to change the spiritual DNA of the region and evangelize.
The Word of God must come into you, otherwise you’ll go into a different flow. God has given such a tremendous blessing to the evangelists. I didn’t know this in the past, there was one person who talked about this so strongly that I was dragged into it, but I didn’t know. I was just attached to this person who talked so confidently. In my mind, things didn’t make sense, but one day, that Word finally came upon me. I realized, “This is what it means for my imprint, root, and nature to change over time.”
Imprint, root, and nature. There are people in the church who suffer because they don’t know the gospel, just attach yourself to them. The only thing you know is playing and eating and gossiping, but you cannot change your family line like that. You must go into the flow that God is doing. Many senior deaconesses go into elementary and toddler ministries. That’s the stream; it’s not that they know anything, but they know the covenant that allows them to do this. If you remain in healing and “me,” you’re too self-centered. Those who receive grace aren’t like that. If you receive grace once, you’ll want to help and serve other people, and you need to do that in the church.
The remnants too must do this. That is the stream through which God works. You have to go into that stream for the stream of your family and America to change. If you go into the word, you must be in the stream to save unbelievers. The job you do is just work; Joseph was like that. Joseph went into the stream of saving the unbelievers in Egypt, and that’s why the spirit of the Lord was with him. It didn’t matter that he was a slave; God was with him. Interpreting Pharaoh’s dream was nothing because he was in the stream of saving Egypt.
If you’re too rooted in “me,” “physical things,” and “success,” you’ll get tripped up. You’re going in there to save them with God who promised to always be with you with all authority in heaven and on earth. You must be rooted in this. God is working even now; you’re not asking God to do anything, God is already working. God doesn’t stop working; the Triune God is working through the Word and the ministry of the Word and the Holy Spirit, but you cannot see this because you’re outside the Word of God. Going into the Word of God, you can see what God is doing in your life and job. “Oh, I didn’t see it before but God is working,” you were just too rooted in success and money that you were somewhere else. You were in a different neighborhood, criticizing others.
“Pastor, I was praying for it, but it didn’t happen.” That’s your time schedule; should it really happen that way? They’re still so self-centered, that God should work according to their time schedule. That is not someone inside of God’s Word; that is someone who has covered themselves with religion. If you are within the Word of God, then one heart, whole heart, and continuation will follow; it’s rightful. It’s not about being beaten half to death towards evangelism; it’s the rightful thing to do. It’s not about a disease in your family, “God, save my family and I’ll be an evangelist,” but if you’re within the Word of God, it’s rightful because God is doing that work already.
These are the works that will arise in the world you live in. Otherwise, you cannot block the disasters of the future. I told you about my family line earlier, my mom always says nothing works out. It means that my family line wasn’t working out. Is it just my family? What about your family and the families in all the regions of America? It’s not that things aren’t working out in our families, but if we are within Jesus Christ, we can confess that things work out. That’s normal. Within Christ.
You can’t pretend to be within Jesus Christ; you have to actually be within Christ. You can’t calculate with your manipulative brain; it’s not going to work out. You have to be inside Jesus realistically, then you no longer need your thoughts and assertions because you have Jesus Christ. When you face a problem, you don’t need your thoughts anymore but you are within God’s thoughts and answers. If you face financial problems, it’s not a problem but the Word comes as an answer, but you tremble and shake when you lose money because you’re so focused on money.
No one said anything to you, but you’re worried. It’s about your location, where are you? Don’t live a religious life; live within Christ, the things work out. I’m a witness; I told you about my family line. This is an answer and solution, and it comes out of me naturally. My mom said, “It doesn’t work out.” It’s not that my mom wants to say that, but it’s naturally coming out because everything doesn’t work out. Of course, my mom lived earnestly and diligently, but everything that happened in our family line did not work out, but that’s why we confess Jesus Christ; otherwise things will not work out.
See the stream where you have no choice but to fall into drugs. There is this flow in America where mental illnesses will arise in the future, and for homelessness to be on the rise. You’re so caught up in your own mental problems, and that’s the stream. No matter how much welfare the government gives you, it doesn’t work out; you can only change when you go into Christ.
As I was born, I lived like an unbeliever, and I confirmed last week, “God, how come you’re not saving my family members? You’re just killing them off.” My wife didn’t know this, but I told her that since we’ve been married, I’ve lost four family members. My uncle, my aunt, one of my cousin-in-laws, and my cousin who is two years older than me, they all died. But my wife’s family line is completely different. They went to church ever since they were young and received grace, and they have spiritual problems because they don’t go all-in towards Jesus Christ, but it’s better than my family. Things just don’t work out.
You’ve heard Rev. Ryu’s family where everyone was poor, dying, and fighting, and nothing worked out. He lost his father as a child, he was poor and lived in the mountainside, and there was conflict. He himself was in that flow, so he went around fighting; he was an expert, and everywhere he went, they were poor; he had no money. If he wanted to escape from that, he had no choice but to go into the gospel, but because he did the evangelism movement, he completely changed.
Now he’s healthy, he’s not poor but money follows him, and he never fires anyone because there’s no reason to be in conflict with anyone. He changed those three flows. What happens if you don’t change these flows? You’ll be dragged into that. He was so sure of it, that he’d attack people who were just sitting there, eating. He chased around a biker with a sword. That was his family line’s DNA. It was prepared so perfectly, and he changed the family line. He wasn’t always like this, well-educated, but he held onto the covenant and everything changed.
There are so many testimonies that I cannot even share them all. Many people share testimonies about Rev. Ryu, about what he used to do to torment other families. So, unless you’re within the gospel, nothing works out. Now, his life is great. In one family, there are three Kim’s, tall ladies with showy hair, strong makeup, and one was the pastor’s wife. They shoved their way into places because they loved to show off, so if you’re in the midst of that, there’s no reason for the gospel. Do not misunderstand; the gospel changes everything; otherwise you’ll get dragged in.
My worry is for my brother. My father passed away from disease, and I was talking to my mom, and I told her to pray for my older brother because he’s always drinking. My father passed away around 2000 and he’s 35 years older than me, but he was drinking every day since the 1970s. This is my family line. If you’re within Jesus Christ, your family line changes. If you think you can just pass this by, that’s foolish. Don’t be foolish. Go all in as a young adult. If you’re arguing about this or that, you can’t change anything. Go completely in. It’s not 50-50, are you playing right now? Are you joking about the hours you put in? You have to go in every day, otherwise nothing will change.
That’s our nature. Don’t joke, don’t calculate. Just go all into the Word of God. God knows you can’t do it, but God will make you do it. It looks foolish but it’s not. Just be aligned to the Word of God and go all in. If you’re always in conflict with your mind that you have so many responsibilities, you can’t do anything. It’s like lamenting about your classes. “Oh, I’m so old, I can’t walk,” but God will give you the strength. If you die, that’s martyrdom; nothing is a problem, but you’re caught up in yourself, but your faith will be poured into your children.
With a vessel as big as a bottlecap, you keep wondering and calculating if things will work out or not. You have to be completely crazy and go into Jesus Christ. You’re either drunk on alcohol or drunk on the Holy Spirit. Drunk on alcohol, you’ll go crazy, but drunk by the Holy Spirit, unbelievers will think you’re crazy, but you’re not. Our church continues to gather in the pandemic, like John MacArthur who won a lawsuit against the state of California. It may be against the law but people are still going. What are you afraid of?
You’re going to be like my mom, “Things don’t work out, I’m a witness that things don’t work out,” but through Jesus Christ, things will work out until the ends of the earth. This changes completely, just go all into this.

God, we thank You. Allow our lives to go into the 21 lifestyles of the evangelist and the 62 points of the evangelist. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen.
