The Life of the Evangelist – 24
When I think about the Word throughout the week, it becomes applicable. But if I try to force it to fit, it won’t work. You must be someone who is with God. What is the characteristic of someone who cannot do this? They are separated from the Word. Why are they like this? Because the things of the world are more precious and urgent, so I can’t focus on the Word and I’m holding onto something else, then my life will be full of suffering, and you can’t hold onto God’s word.
When will the suffering end? When you let go of yourself. Who will win? God will win. When will we let go of ourselves? When we let go of our limitations; until then, we live in our limitations and ask, “God, why don’t you take this away from me?” You don’t even know you’re holding onto yourself and your stubbornness, and you won’t let go. All you have to do is let go. You have to hold onto God’s Word.
It doesn’t matter if you go to church, even the Jews went to church and missed this. The Jews’ path is laid out, but God moves people who hold onto God’s Word. I am rooted in Genesis 3, 6, and 11, but my life will change. Then, when you meet someone, you can proclaim the Word because you see them. When I see that the other person needs the Word, I’ll proclaim it. There is no reason for you to not proclaim it, because if you hold onto the Word saying, “I won’t relay it until I get it,” then that’s humanism. What’s important is that you become one with God.
What is religion? When you’re not unified with God, but you look for God. Looking for things of God is religion, but that is not believing in God. You’re just consulting God. You have to believe that God is higher, but still you hold onto your own things. Studying is not just studying, but through these things, you have to realize that studying works out. If you let go of the things of yourself, you can see answer. Because you hold onto yourself, when a problem comes, you can’t figure it out, so you think it’s a problem. What’s the fastest way? You let go of yourself.
