The Individual and Church in the Flow of God (Acts 1:1-11)

Let us bless and greet one another, “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”  May God’s unprecedented grace be upon us today.  We have finished the book of Romans and we are beginning the book of Acts, and for several months, God has been fulfilling the Word of the book of Romans.  Whether you’re aware of it or not, God is fulfilling His Word even now, and even now, God is answering our prayers, and even right now, God is carrying out the ministry of salvation through world evangelization.  When I’m connected with that Triune God, I can see the works of God.

1. Jesus Christ (Acts 1:1)

1) In the first book (Acts 1:1)

(1) Luke

Before we talk about the book of Acts, Theophilus was given the book of Luke.  Theophilus was a political figure, and the doctor Luke wrote the book of Acts to the politician, Theophilus, talking about why Jesus is the Christ and the works of the Kingdom of God.  The standard of your walk of faith, as well as the church, should be based on Acts, because there might be a difference between the church you imagine and think about, versus the church of the Bible.  As we begin the book of Acts, through the church, may the works of the book of Acts take place in your life.

(2) Jesus is the Christ and Lord (Lk. 21:11)

If these answers do not take place in our lives, what kind of Christian life will we live?  I’ll give you guys the introduction first, and then we’ll go into the main content.  In the scripture, we see the 12 Apostles and the 70 disciples who were following Jesus, but why did they follow Jesus?  In Luke 5, we are able to see that the fishermen were not able to catch any fish all night long, then, Jesus comes and tells them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat, and their nets were brimming with fish.  After they saw that miraculous work, they said, “This person is the Christ; I am a sinner,” and they knelt before Jesus, and that was because God’s grace was upon them.  You need to listen to this main point very carefully.

Many Christians do not believe in Jesus for no reason; they come to church by God’s grace, and then they believe in Jesus, but what is the beginning point?  It is the power of God, and the miracles of God; they use that to first accept Jesus, or they receive healing from a long-standing disease.  Or, they faced a very large or long-standing problem, and then they were set free from that problem.  But that walk of faith cannot go beyond yourself.  Our faith must go beyond us.  If there are any of you who are still focused on “my blessings” and “my problems,” and you cannot escape from “me,” then you will be limited, then you cannot go into the main works of the book of Acts.

(3) Jesus’ death and resurrection (Lk. 24:46)

I’ll tell you the reason why: all human beings are born separated from God.  What does it mean to be separated from God?  Biblically speaking, it is Original Sin; what kind of life do we live, then?  We all live centered on “myself,” all of my thoughts, my emotions, my feelings, the work that I do is centered on “myself.”  So, we live our lives doing “what I want,” and we think that that’s happiness.  But later on, things that I do not want will happen, why is that?  Because I’m bound by “me.”  People try to accomplish what they want by gathering their strength with other people’s strength, that’s their life goal, but they still cannot escape from “me.”  When they are successful, they are overjoyed by that because, “I did something.”  When I get what I want, I’m incredibly happy because I got what I want, but you have to prepare for life beyond that, because without God, our lives do not work out the way we want; now, things that I do not want continue to happen.  Then, you’ll face things like sadness and depression.  That is the introductory Christian life, and nonbelievers live like that, too.  That’s why people create and choose religions for themselves, to fix their own problems and receive their own blessings.  Everything is still centered on, “me,” the religion I choose, the religion that will bless me, the religion that will solve my family’s problems.  People are going towards meditation nowadays.  “The problem is inside of me, so I must empty myself,” that’s meditation, and Buddhism believes that we receive enlightenment by emptying “myself.”  Other people meditate to fill themselves with the energy of the universe so they can become like God.

2) Disciples who didn’t know the reason for the cross

(1) Jesus called the disciples (Lk. 6:13)

Look at all the different nations of the world.  Everyone cannot escape from “me,” this individualism, “me-centeredness.”  Democracy is centered on people.  Communism is based on splitting equally among people.  Every religion, philosophy, ideology, belief in the world is centered on “me” and humans.  That’s how the disciples believed in Jesus in the beginning.  That’s why, when they faced a problem they could not solve, they ran away.  That’s at the cross.  Yes, they followed Jesus, but things were not going according to their plan, so they turned their back on Jesus and denied knowing Him.  When life is working out, we talk as if we are following the Lord, but, if you stay centered on yourself, you cannot even overcome a problem.  When we are young, we can overcome our problems with our strength or endurance, but more and more, we face problems we cannot solve in life.  These are the spiritual problems, and they burn into our mental problems, and now we’ve faced our limitation.  God’s grace is to quickly look towards Christ in that moment, but to the very end, we are stubbornly holding onto the foolish thing called, “me.”

(2) Confessing Jesus is the Christ (Lk. 9:20)

But the gospel the Bible tells us about is not centered on “me,” we change to be centered on Christ Who lives in me, and I die on the cross.  If we do not cross that threshold, we cannot go beyond ourselves.  “Oh, I’m happy because I received an answer”?  That’s temporary.  Later on, if you don’t get an answer, you’ll be sad.  It’s not you at all—it’s Christ within you, that is how the forces of darkness in your family line and your region start breaking down, because in Genesis 3, Satan is the one who placed the thought, centered on “me,” in our thoughts.  As evidence we are seized by Satan’s thoughts, we live our lives, centered on “me.”  Even the disciples followed Jesus and believed in Him, but when they couldn’t overcome the cross and His death, they ran away from him.

(3) Denied Jesus (Lk. 22:57)

They had no choice but to deny Jesus.  No matter how much of God’s miracles and power we see, if we do not have a turning point where I die on the cross with Christ and Christ lives within me, we have no other choice, why?  What is the reason for the cross?

3) Reason for the cross

(1) Delivered from the hand of our enemies (Lk. 1:74)

Luke 1:74 says the reason Jesus died on the cross was to rescue us from the hand of our enemies.  So, our focus must not be on people; it must be to escape from the hand of our enemies, but we’re still so focused on people.  No, we must focus on the enemy, Satan, the devil, who is working behind the people.  Only Christ can set us free from the enemy, Satan.

(2) Salvation through the forgiveness of sins (Lk. 1:77)

Luke 1:77 says, “To give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,” the Original Sin, the sin of not knowing God from the moment we are born.  Even now, Original Sin continues and that is the beginning of every other problem.  But, I don’t even know I’m sinning!  Even right now, God is alive and with me, even right now, God is with us and He is with all things, but Original Sin is us not believing in that.  The result of Original Sin is the actions of sin, of being a slave to Satan, completely bound by him.

(3) God’s inheritance – Within me (Acts 26:18)

The only way for us to escape from that is in Acts 26:18, we must become His inheritance, God must be with us.  This is the reason for the cross, that the Lord of resurrection and life must be with me for my life to be finished.  If you don’t know this, then you cannot escape from the scars of your past, and the cross is what allows us to use the past as a platform to save and help other people.  The only way to escape from the path and curses of your family line is the cross.  There is no other way to escape.  Without Christ, we cannot escape.

It’s not just Christ; we die on the cross with Christ, and He lives in me as my Lord and as my life.  When I change to become like this, our life goes into the main content.  The reason your past is so scarring is because you are seized by it.  Why are you seized by it?  It’s because you were supposed to die on the cross, but you’re not dead yet.  Why are the traumas of my past holding onto me, even today?  Why are the failures of my past holding onto my ankles today?  It’s because you haven’t escaped from yourself.  No matter how much consolation or advice you seek, it might come from you, but it cannot set you free from yourself.  What makes you happy or sad?  You’re happy and sad because of yourself, aren’t you?  But that’s a useless happiness and a useless sadness.  We should be happy because of the gospel.  We should be able to laugh because the Lord is with me.  Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I have so much leisure, I could laugh.  The world could call that, “crazy,” but these are the words you must hear to be a Christian correctly.  If you shake just like nonbelievers in the face of a problem, then that is a fake Christian.  That is somebody who is following Jesus Christ for themselves and for their physical gain.

We have no conditions for ourselves; only Christ is my standard and my condition.  Christ Who existed from long ages past, this means He knows all the problems of my past.  When you hold onto this Christ, you are set free from your past.  Christ, Who died on the cross, resurrected, and is living right now.  When you hold onto that Christ, your present problems are solved, but we keep on obsessing about our problems.  We need to hold onto Christ Who is my Lord.  We must hold onto the words of Christ.  The devil keeps on disturbing us with our logic; he makes us obsessed with the problems.  No, we must concentrate on Christ instead.  During this time of worship, we concentrate on the words of Christ.  What happens during that time?  The forces of darkness that were deceiving and seizing me start to be broken down, and we are set free from the darkness that was causing us to obsess over things.  We were obsessed with our depression, we were obsessed with our panic attacks, we were obsessed with our bipolar disorder.  Bipolar disorder itself is not the problem; it is a chance for me to concentrate on spiritual things.  We have not escaped from “me” yet.  When we face a disease, we cannot escape from “me” because, “I have this disease and it’s painful for me, and it’s so difficult for me.”  All humans are like this.

There is only one way to escape from that.  We look at the Christ inside of us, we acknowledge the sovereignty of Christ.  Then, even if that person has a problem, it’s irrelevant to them.  That is the true Christian.  But fake people will call that person a heretic.  It’s a one-eyed monkey calling a two-eyed monkey a heretic.  The one who is obsessing over their problem is the real heretic, that’s religion, then they will go into the devil’s hands.  We focus on the life of Christ, and may that blessing be upon you through today’s worship.  You should not be concentrating on your problems.  When you concentrate on Christ Who is with “me,” then your problems become irrelevant.  Any mental problems you have?  It doesn’t matter.  Your physical diseases?  They don’t matter, because the One Who is greater than all of that is with me.  We live our lives concentrated on that fact.  Everything else is taken care of by our Lord, because Christ is the Lord of my life. This gospel must be proclaimed, but instead of this accurate gospel being proclaimed, people talk about, “Jesus Who will bless me, Jesus Who is so powerful,” that’s why Satan is not being broken down.

2. Works of the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3)

1) 40 days after the resurrection

(1) Presented Himself to the disciples (Acts 1:3)

This Christ was testified about in the book of Luke, and in Acts 1:3, it says that Jesus Christ, after His suffering, showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive, and “He spoke to them over a period of 40 days about God’s Kingdom.”  We’re so focused on our own work, aren’t we?  That is a fake Christian., Yes, their words are correct, I do have to solve my problems, I do have to solve children’s problems, that’s true, but you shouldn’t be focused on that, you should be concerned with the work of God’s Kingdom.  What is the work of God’s Kingdom?  You have to know it to be interested in it. There is a work the Lord talked about with His disciples for 40 days.

(2) Directly met the resurrected Jesus

They met the resurrected Lord.  Religious doctrine cannot change you.  Biblical knowledge cannot change you.  You must meet Christ Who is alive and is working now. The Christ Who is with me and is working upon this worship.  The Christ Who is with you while you suffer.  That is the resurrected Lord you must believe in.  That is what happened to the disciples.

(3) Confirmed that Jesus is the Christ

Then, He begins to change the incorrect imprints the disciples have.  He is changing all of your priorities that prioritize “me” and “the world.”  “What I want, what I need,” yes, those words are correct but they trap us in Satan.  Then, we face mental and spiritual problems.  We focus on “me, me,” and then things beyond our control take place.  But if we focus on “Christ, Christ,” then, things that go beyond our abilities take place.  We focus on, “Christ, Christ,” and the Holy Spirit works; then, the forces of darkness are bound.  Christ, the solution to all problems; all of your past, present, and future problems are finished.  “But I still do have problems,” but now they are irrelevant to me because Christ is my Lord, and the Lord will use this problem to open the door of blessings.

People who are centered on themselves are scared of problems, but the ones who believe in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, their problems become a door for answers because Christ allowed this problem.  Christ is the One Who opens the way.  “But I’m so sad, I’m not getting what I want,” it doesn’t matter.  Why did the Lord allow this to happen?  Last week, in my family, there was a funeral, and the funeral is actually coming up, and my wife said that two weeks ago, she was listening to praise, and she got a feeling that the Lord was going to allow this to happen.  Then, the next Tuesday, her older sister passed away.  My wife says she will have to go to Korea to find what God wanted.  God just called her older sister, God took her sister to a place with no suffering, so pray for those who remain, and don’t have unnecessary ideas.  But it was such a shock to her.  Things we can’t even predict are happening, and how many of those things happen in our lives?  But, I held onto the Word, “The Gospel that Strengthens Us.”  Even death is not our standard.  Christ, the Word God allowed.  God called her to heaven, and my mission is establishing God’s Kingdom on earth.  Through your problems and circumstances, you get to hold onto Christ.

Who is the true Christian?  Is the true Christian somebody who is fighting with and blaming God every time something bad happens to them?  People say, “Why did you give this mental problem to my family?”  If you have a mental illness, it’s hard; the whole family will struggle because of that one person, but God has allowed that because there is a work that God is doing.  Even the way that we interpret things that happen are centered on “me.”  “Why did you make me born blind? Whose sin is it? Is it this person’s sin or their parents’ sin?”  Everything is centered on “me,” but there is a work that God is doing, so God has allowed this, and there is a work that God is doing through this.  I hope you will quickly escape from your religion.  People who are centered on prosperity, that’s religion.  “If you believe in Jesus, you’ll be blessed,” yes, that’s true, but being with God is the greatest of all blessings.  If you are the prince of a king, that’s all you care about, why would you count your money?  A prince does not argue over money and a successful person doesn’t argue over success.  It’s because they are already a prince.  Money and success cannot compare to being a prince.  The fact that he is a prince gives him authority. The fact that he is a prince makes money and success follow after him.  So what is true success?  God’s will being fulfilled is true success.  But you are misunderstanding God because you hang onto the wrong success.  You and I must become people who hold onto the correct definition of success and have the works of the book of Acts take place full force in our lives.

2) Kingdom of God

(1) In your midst (Lk. 17:21)

(2) All authority in heaven and on earth – Rule (Mt. 28:18)

(3) Seated at the throne of heaven (Acts 1:11)

Luke 17:21 says that the Kingdom of God is within us.  The Kingdom of God is neither here nor there; it is inside of you.  What exactly is inside of us?  The One Who is seated at the throne of heaven and has all authority in heaven and on earth is with us as the Holy Spirit.  He is reigning over and controlling my life, and I entrust all of my sovereignty to God, then God’s Kingdom is established inside of me.  From that point on, you’ll be able to hear God’s Word correctly.  As long as you are holding onto yourself, you cannot even hear God’s Word, you only hear the words you want to hear; you cannot hear the Word God wants you to hear.  We have to listen to the Word of the King of Kings, but instead, you’re listening to your own thoughts.  Then, of course, you’ll misunderstand.   Sometimes, God rebukes us with His Word, and He gives us that.  Words that pierce our heart, those are the words God gives us, and even the words that fill us with grace and inspiration, those are also given to us by God, but it must be the Word God wants to give us.  That is the posture the people of God’s Kingdom must have.

3) Works of the Kingdom of God

(1) All nations – Disciples (Mt. 28:19)

Today, the scripture is explaining about the works of God’s Kingdom.  There is a difference between the Kingdom of God and the works pertaining to the Kingdom of God. What is the work pertaining to the Kingdom of God?  After Jesus resurrected, He explained to His disciples, for 40 days.  In Matthew, Jesus explained to them for 40 days, to go and make disciples of all nations; that is the work of the Kingdom of God.  We are doing the work of the world, but we must do the work of God’s Kingdom, but Christians who are living an introductory life are focusing all of their attention on the work of the world, so they are not aligned with God.  They know God is alive but in their everyday life, they are not aligned with God. “Why am I working?  Why am I studying?  Why am I living in this world?”  It’s for the work of God’s Kingdom.  Jesus says, “Make disciples of all nations,” that’s the reason the One Who has all authority in heaven and on earth will be with you.

(2) Evidence of the gospel to all peoples (Mk. 16:15)

In the book of Mark, Jesus Christ said to proclaim the gospel to all peoples.

(3) Christ is proclaimed to all nations (Lk. 24:47)

To Luke, in the book of Luke, Jesus Christ said the Christ must be proclaimed to all nations.

(4) Feed my lambs (Jn. 21:15-18)

And to John, Jesus Christ said to “feed my lambs.”  This is the work of God’s Kingdom.  It’s hard to go to work and go to school, isn’t it? It is because you are doing your work. When that changes into the work of God’s Kingdom, God begins to work.  When we change our priorities, because we prioritize the things of the world, we are not aligned with God.  Then, people ask me the question, “Should I stop doing the things of the world?”  No, God gave them to you; why would you stop?  I’m saying, change your priorities.  You do the work of the world for the work of God’s Kingdom.  If that priority doesn’t change, then we have mental illnesses. What kind of creation are we?  We are created in God’s blessing to do the work of the world for God’s Kingdom.  How are we able to win without competing?  Because our goal is not the work of the world.  Our goal is the work of God’s Kingdom.  That’s how we can win without fighting or competing.  There’s actually no competitors because nobody is seeking God’s Kingdom.  It’s something I uniquely do.

That’s the blessing we’ve been given, but first, seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.  “First.”  Then, the things of the world will follow you.  But we live our walk of faith for the things of the world, we pray to God for those things. That’s actually what religions do, that’s what shamans do. We change ourselves into religion, so it’s an introductory life and we cannot go into the main content.  From God’s perspective, the introductory life is not as important because we cannot go into the main content.  You know the “introduction,” right?  You live your life just in the introduction.  You cannot go into the full-fledged works of the ministry of God.  A lot of elites and successful people end their lives in the introduction.  God does not want successful people.  God wants successful people who go into the main content.  God doesn’t want us to be smart; God wants a smart person who is able to do the full work of God because God has the power.  God has greater knowledge than all of the Harvard alumni combined.  God does not need the intelligence of people, God does not need the education of people.  God wants the person who seeks the work of God’s Kingdom, because God is the Creator God, God is the source of all blessings.

There is a student in my family, and I told her, “Work hard, then you’ll be barely as good as a nonbeliever.  I’ve lived your life and I’ve worked hard, I’ve lived without sleeping, I did my very best, but you still can’t escape from yourself.”  If God does not bless you, then you cannot do it.  We think like this, “If I try my best, if I give my all,” that’s what nonbelievers do, that’s just basic.  There’s nothing “best” about that, that’s common knowledge.  God has to bless you, because our blessings come from heaven.  I told her, “I want you to be a kid inside of God’s blessings.”  She’s only 17 years old, but her thoughts are so rigid already.  There’s a governor election in May, and she said she signed up to be a volunteer, and one of the days she volunteered for is Sunday.  I asked “What time do you volunteer from?” She said, “9am.”  I said, “Don’t go.”  She said, “Are you going to take care of what college I go to? I get $400 from volunteering, and even more than the $400 I make, I’ll get into college.”  I said, “Quit while I’m being nice. I’m telling you this because I’ve already lived your life.”  She’s a pastor’s daughter, she’s been going to church since she was in the womb, but the thing that was deeply imprinted in her is centered on “me,” material things, and success, and she doesn’t want to change it.  If you don’t understand what I’m telling you, life will be a headache.  I’ve met successful people, I’ve met different types, but any success that does not have spiritual strength will be broken down.

Do you know why David was the greatest king?  David was the one who won so many wars and gained countless possessions from that, he got tens of thousands of horses from battle, but he cut all of their Achilles tendons so they could not be military horses.  We may think, “God is blessing us with so many answers,” but David followed the Word of God.  God told David, “When you become a king, do not have too large of an army,” do you know why?  Because the battle of the Lord is in God’s hands, and it is not won because you have a lot of troops and a lot of horses.  But do you know what happened to David’s son, Solomon?  He had a tremendous number of troops and horses.  He received all of these incredible blessings and answers, and he used them to make his own lavish throne and palace.  We’re thinking, “Oh, God’s Kingdom, He blessed us,” but one day, God disappeared from Solomon’s heart.  I’m not saying that getting blessed is a bad thing; I’m saying, you need to follow God’s Word, and Solomon left the Word of God, so even after all that success, his life was destroyed and the kingdom and the nation were divided into two nations.

I told this to the young adults yesterday and to my daughter.  Then she started yelling at me, “Give me $400, fine, I won’t go, then,” and I said, “For this education, even $400 isn’t a waste of money.”  The kids don’t really know. They don’t know God is the One Who blesses.  They think life will work out if they go to a good college.  We’ve gone through all of that.  Your life does not change with that.  We need to go into the main content life that is blessed by God.  If you don’t understand this now, then after experiencing life, you will realize later on.  I told my daughter, “I want you to be a remnant who does world evangelization, so, before you go to college, and even in college, receive this training.”  She stubbornly said she doesn’t want to go to a nearby college, but eventually, she will go close by, because I felt something doing 25 years of college ministry, that it’s all useless.  I’m not saying college is bad, but I’m saying that children lose their heart for God.  I’m not talking about college at all; I’m talking about the things that take God out of our hearts, then we are done for.  It doesn’t matter how great of an answer we’ve received in the past, it’s done.  You and I must go into the main content of our lives.  Yes, go to a good college, but go to a good college while you’re receiving training to place God into your heart, otherwise your life is done for.  I could talk about this forever, but the sermon gets too long.

3. Power of the Holy Spirit

1) What was promised (Acts 1:4)

(1) Wait (Acts 1:4)

In Acts 1:4, it says, “Wait for the promise of the Father.”

(2) Baptized with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5)

To receive baptism by the Holy Spirit.  Water baptism is when we go into the water, but the spirit baptism is being filled by the spirit; in other words, it is being immersed or seized by the Spirit of God.  If I want to be seized by the Holy Spirit, I must throw my whole life at Christ.  When people face a cliff, they do everything they can not to fall off.  That person cannot go into a main content life.  You need to completely entrust your life to God and throw it off the cliff, that’s when the power of God will hold me.  Why are we so seized by bipolar disorder or depression?  It is because we cannot escape from “me.”  Yes, we have a lot of different reasons, “It’s because of that person, it’s because of my parents,” but it’s actually because I’m not throwing my life at Christ.  If you hold onto Christ alone, then depression is not a problem to you at all.  When does this moment take place?  By the working of the Holy Spirit, through the correct worship, through the correct Word of God; it’s not just any word of God, it’s the correct Word, because just with the Word of God, it won’t be solved.  It must be the word  “only,” only that can solve it.  Everything else is introductory.  You and I must go into “only,” into the “main,” then you will receive the power from above, the power of the throne of heaven.

(3) Stay until you are clothed with power from on high (Lk. 24:49)

Then Jesus says, “You will receive power,” and in the Greek, it’s talking about the explosive power of dynamite, to be a witness to the ends of the earth.  What kind of life do you want to live?  “I want to live a successful life,” that’s not aligned with God.  “I want a life that really elevates my name,” that’s not aligned with God.  “I want to be someone who goes to church a lot,” that’s not what God wants either.  He wants you to be His witness.  We must become a witness of Christ.  The dream of my life is to become a witness of Christ.  “I’m going to follow all the great heroes of the world,” no, I am a witness of Christ.  There is no one who is greater than Christ.  Even 2000 years after His death, His name influences the whole world, even today.  When you are sleeping in your bed, praying to God with your eyes closed, ask, “What is the dream of my life?”  To be a witness of Christ.  When that really becomes the center of your heart, you will be aligned with God, then God’s power comes upon you.  Even if you don’t pray, it will come upon you, because the Lord really knows whether you really want to become a witness of Christ or not.  If you hold onto it fakely, then the Holy Spirit will not work.

2) State of the disciples before the Holy Spirit

(1) Restoration of the kingdom of Israel (Acts 1:6)

You must have fundamental power because even after all of this, the disciples were asking, “Will You now restore the kingdom to Israel?”  Even now, they wanted to solve the problems of the world, because at that moment, Israel was colonized by Rome.  At that time, the Lord quickly said, “Don’t even worry about that, time is in God’s hands.”

(2) Priority of solving visible problems

We’re only interested in the problems we see, we’re only interested in quickly solving the mental problem my child has, but until that changes, “God’s Kingdom.”  When that becomes my first priority.  When the Holy Spirit fills us and we receive fundamental power, we overcome the mental problem.  We keep obsessing over mental problems, but I’m in a state that has no choice but to have financial problems.  You can’t make excuses; you’re in this problem because this was your state.  Why do sexually immoral things keep happening to me?  Is it that person or is it me?  It’s both because that was my state.  No matter what you try or what advice you seek, you cannot be fixed.  Only one way.

(3) Didn’t know the reason for fundamental strength

When the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon me and I receive that fundamental strength, then I will have the strength to overcome the other problems.  Yes, we need morals and ethics, but that cannot give us fundamental strength.  Sicknesses can be healed temporarily by doctors, but you’re in a spiritual state that leaves you no choice but to get sick again.  The only One Who can give you the fundamental strength is the Holy Spirit.

3) Witness (Acts 1:8)

(1) Power, to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8)

(2) End will come when the gospel is proclaimed to all nations (Mt. 24:14)

To where will this gospel be proclaimed?  Matthew 24:14 says the gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all nations, and then the end will come.  There are wars going on even today, and there’s a reason for that, because through all of these things, God wants to testify of the gospel, that the nation was so blocked off before, but now the doors are opening and God wants the gospel to enter.  Yes, politically, there are many reasons, but God uses all of that to proclaim and testify this gospel.  Why am I living here?  To testify this gospel.  Why did God allow me to experience failure?  To be restored and testify the gospel.  Why did God allow me this mental or physical problem?  So you can receive the fundamental power and restore and be a witness of the gospel.  When parents recognize this, they relay this to their children.  But as long as the parents prioritize the things of the world, they cannot change their children.  The world cannot solve mental problems.  Why did God allow this?  To change your priority.  Once your priority changes, it will no longer be a problem.  God wants to give this blessing to your whole family.  It doesn’t matter how much you run around, trying to ask for prayers, and no matter what you try, you already have this problem.  God wants you to change that.

(3) Jesus Christ will come back (Acts 1:11)

Conclusion

1. Only the gospel – Into the flow of the Word

In conclusion, only the gospel, following the stream of the Word.

2. Only the Kingdom of God – Into the flow of world evangelization

Only the Kingdom of God, to the whole world, in the stream of world evangelization.

3. Only the power of the Holy Spirit – Into the flow of answers to prayers

And only by the power of the Holy Spirit, the stream of answered prayers.  When you go into this flow, even if you stay still, answers follow you.  I bless you in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be a witness of this blessing for the rest of the week.

Message Prayer
Let us begin praying holding onto the Word we’ve received today as our covenant.

Offering Prayer and Newcomer Blessing

God, we thank You.  We give glory to God for You have finished all problems on the cross and You are with us right now.  Allow us to give our lives all-in into the Kingdom of God, and God, we pray You will bless our lives so we may live our whole lives for the mission of the Kingdom of God and return to the Lord.  We pray that You will bless the people of all ethnicities and future generations, and may our family, our lives, our church have the works of the book of Acts.  May all of the forces of darkness that are blocking us be broken down, may the forces of darkness inside of us be broken down.  Allow us to stand within the life of Christ.

We have returned Your materials as offering.  Everywhere it is used, we pray Christ will be testified.  May the kingdom of Satan be broken down and the Kingdom of God be established.  In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen.

Benediction

God, we thank You for saving us and making us children of God.  We thank You for guiding us individually and as a church to go into the main stream that saves the world.  Allow our lives to be a masterpiece that leaves behind guideposts.

Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the unending love of God, and the indwelling, working, guidance, and fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be upon the heads of all the people of God, the people of all nations, and the remnants who desire to live only for the Kingdom of God, be with them now until forevermore and always, amen.
