Truth that Gives Freedom from the Life of Slavery (Jn. 8:31-44)

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God

Truth that Gives Freedom from the Life of Slavery (Jn. 8:31-44)

Speaker Pastor Dusun Park | Interpreter Tiffany Han

Let us bless and greet one another, “Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God.”  You may say those words without understanding what they mean, but they are a tremendous blessing, and from the moment you realize that those words are a greater blessing than studying well or success, then your walk of faith will begin.  You can see what this person is focused on based on their words.  This person’s life will be determined based on whether their lives are centered on God’s Word or on something else.

1. Jews

  1) Slave

    (1) Deny Jesus Christ who is the truth

In today’s scripture, God Himself came to earth in the form of a human named Jesus Christ, and the Jewish people were fighting against Him.  Even though they believed in the Old Testament and they believed in God, they actually opposed God when He came to earth, and when anybody opposes somebody else, there’s a standard with which they oppose.  Typically people will try to oppose the gospel with their standard of what they believe is right and wrong.  What each person determines is right may be from the education of the world or based on their own personal experiences.  However, the Word of God tells us that when we look at this situation spiritually, somebody clinging onto their standard of what is right or wrong is actually seized by the devil. That’s the reason Jesus Christ looked at the Jewish people and said they were slaves.

    (2) Slave to sin (Jn. 8:34)

The “slaves” in today’s scripture is not a physical slave, this is not talking about the physical slavery we see with our eyes, but an invisible, spiritual slavery.  Before you are a slave to the physical things like disease, money, your circumstances, or success, or people in your life, there is a spiritual slavery.  The reason is because you are rejecting the Lord, Who is the Truth.  In other words, you are not just a slave, but you are a slave to sin.  You are a slave to sin, and there is a  sin that is visible to your eyes, and invisible.  But the Bible tells us that everything you do that comes out of the disbelief of Jesus Christ or God is sin. The Jewish people are talking to Jesus Christ, but they don’t believe in Him.  The Jewish people in the Bible are talking about current day Christians who have the Bible. These people who are using the scriptures to believe in and follow God are denouncing the gospel, that’s why Jesus Christ called them, ”slaves to sin.”

At first, we might think, “Oh, I’m not like that, Lord, am I?” But yes you are. “But I acknowledge Jesus Christ.” No, Jesus is saying these words to you because as soon as we face a problem, we’re enslaved by the sin of disbelief.  When we face a problem, we should hold onto the words of the Truth and follow after the gospel, but instead, we follow our own standards and try to solve or get stuck in our problems.  The same way that the Jewish people were attacking Jesus Christ in the Bible is the same way Christians are attacking Jesus today.  Why do you think that Jesus Christ is proclaiming these words to us today?  Because we are like this, too.  He is saying, “You denounce Jesus.”  When your life is good, you forget about Jesus altogether, whether He’s there or not, but as soon as you face problems, you begin to curse Him, and you separate from His Word, holding onto your standards and sin. That is what it means to be a slave to sin.

Then, what is the source of being a slave to sin? It is because you are a slave to Satan.  The characteristic of slavery is a lack of freedom, you have no idea how important freedom is.  There are people who escape from North Korea into South Korea or America to try to get freedom.  Then they come to South Korea or America and they gain freedom, however, they are still enslaved by sin.  Physically they are free, but in their heart and in their mind, they are still enslaved because they have not found the Truth.  There is the Statue of Liberty in New York, and that represents all of America.  So, when people think about America, they think about the nation everybody goes to in order to get freedom. There are many people who come to America to gain financial freedom.  Or, there are some people who have a disease but are unable to get treatment inside of their own country, so they come to America to try to get freedom from their disease.  People are looking for financial freedom from the difficult financial situation in their country.  There are also some oppressive governments that don’t give freedom of speech; some people move to America for that.

But the freedom that these people are talking about is a physical freedom.  Why is it that America has so many physical freedoms guaranteed but there are more and more mental patients? It means they are seized by something.  Because these people are seized by something, they’re not able to escape from their depression or panic attacks. They have no freedom from their mental problems.  They are not able to free themselves from addictions.  In this nation of freedom, there is no freedom.  People go to church, but they don’t have freedom.  Even now, people are so bound by money that they are enslaved by money.  Even right now, there are so many people who are suffering from the scars in their past. Even inside of the nation of freedom, there is no freedom, and that is what Jesus is telling us today.

    (3) Has no permanent place in the family (Jn. 8:35)

Jesus is telling you that you hold onto the Bible and it seems like you have something, but you don’t have freedom.  That is why you cannot be with God forever in His home.  If you are with God, then you must enjoy His freedom fully.

  2) Jews without freedom

    (1) Have no room for Jesus’s word (Jn. 8:37)

That is why Jesus Christ told the Jewish people, “You have no room for My word in you.” The Word of God has to come into me, but I’m filled with something else.  Inside of me, I do not have the Word of God; instead, I’m bound by a stronghold, that’s why the Word has not come into me.  We are fortified with the strongholds of our thoughts and our ideologies.  That’s why Jesus Christ, God Himself, comes to earth and gives us His Word, but there is no room for His Word in us.  The one who suffers the most is the one who does not receive God’s Word in them, because this means that there is something else inside of them that is seizing them.  It turns out, the source of that is the devil.

    (2) Looking for a way to kill Jesus (Jn. 8:37)

    (3) Doing what you have heard from your father (Jn. 8:38)

  3) Jews held onto formality (Jn. 8:39)

    (1) Not doing what Abraham did (Jn. 8:39-40)

These Jewish people were holding onto the scriptures and they were worshiping, but it was only their external form.  In today’s scripture, Jesus Christ says, “If you are Abraham’s descendants, you would do what Abraham did, but you do not.  In the Old Testament, there was a situation where God went to visit Abraham in the form of two angels.  At that time, Abraham greeted God and Jesus Christ with joy.  That’s why it says in the Bible that Abraham delighted to see Jesus.

    (2) Doing the works of your own father (Jn. 8:41)

Jesus is telling the Jewish people, “If you are really Abraham’s descendants, you would be delighted to see me, but you are not doing the same things that he did.  Just as Abraham accepted me, you should also accept me, but you are opposing me, how could you be Abraham’s descendants?” Then, who is your father?

    (3) Belong to the devil (Jn. 8:44)

John 8:44, Jesus Christ says, “You belong to your father, the devil.”  There are only two options, either we are children of God who believe in Jesus Christ, or we are children of the devil, and for the children of the devil, they will not like it if you talk about the devil; they start fighting back, saying, “Why are you talking bad about my dad?” If there are any of you who feel anger coming up when we talk about the devil, then it is because you are a child of the devil.  Whether you recognize or acknowledge that or not, it is an undeniable fact.  There are some people, though, when they hear about the devil, they say, “Yeah, that’s right, he needs to be destroyed,” then what is the work that the devil does?

In John 8:44, Jesus Christ says, “You belong to your father the devil and you long to carry out your father’s desires,” or his greed.  This devil used to be an angel but he had his greed, he desired to become like God himself, and he was corrupted and fell as an angel. That devil is still placing greed into people’s hearts today. That is the beginning of every problem.  All the problems you have in your life right now will come back if you solve them. Even if you don’t have any problems at the moment, you are still in problems.  You are already inside of the problem because you’re trapped by your own greed.

In Gen. 2, God specifically told Adam, “You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,” but Satan told him, “You can eat it, and you will become like God,” but the devil is invisible and he works upon us in the same way. He crawls up to our thoughts and emotions and tells us, “You can be the standard of your own life.  Instead of following God, you can be your own god and you can decide what is good and what is bad based on your standard.”  Shall I give an example? Let’s say you face a problem and you’re in the position of being God.  Then you make the decision of whether this is a problem or not.  Because you are your own god, you want to solve this problem on your own.  That is the state that is seized by the devil.  What the devil does is he works through our greed and our desire, which is ultimately us being the lord of our own life.

If you are able to receive God’s Word today correctly through His grace, then it doesn’t matter what problems come.  However, if you misunderstand God’s Word, even if it’s the thickness of a sheet of paper, then you will misunderstand God, and you will continue to suffer, even though you come to church and you live your walk of faith, you will live a religious life.  A religious life is, just giving your offering so that problems will not come, and you serve inside the church so that problems do not come to your life, you’re giving all of that service in advance because you’re afraid of problems.  That’s what religions do, and you will do the same exact thing inside the church if you don’t understand the gospel, then what exactly is the gospel the Bible tells us about?

Even if you face a problem, it doesn’t matter because there are only two options, you can either have freedom or be a slave.  If you remain within the words of Jesus Christ, you will be His disciple and you will have true freedom. When you face a problem and you stand directly in the truth of God, then you will have freedom.  It doesn’t matter what problem you’re facing now, your financial problems, or your health problems, or problems with people’s relationships, and your mental problems; yes, those are all problems, but the original problem is that you are your own god, and that state is being a slave to sin.  Because you’re enslaved by sin, that’s why you’re bound by your diseases.  Because you are a slave to sin, that’s why you are bound by material possessions.  It turns out, you’re actually enslaved by the devil.  This is what the church tells people.  The church is not a place where you can put out insurance so you can’t have problems.  The problem has already been finished on the cross, so it’s irrelevant to me. Even if you get cancer, realistically, it’s irrelevant to me.  “How can you say it’s irrelevant, Pastor, when I have it?”  One day, when you receive God’s grace to understand what I mean, you will see it’s true.

The devil was a liar from the beginning, and a “lie” is anything that prevents you from standing on God’s Word.  People say words that are incorrect.  Yes, there are some people who lie, but most people say their words are true, but God says, “Even your correct words are a lie. They are only correct from your perspective. That’s not the Word of Truth. That’s why it’s a lie.”  Whenever people face a problem, they try to assert their own rationality, why they think they’re right, but that is a state that has separated from God’s Word.  It’s not about whether I did good or whether I did bad; it’s about, what is God’s Word.  That is what the Bible is telling us.

It also says here, the devil was a murderer from the beginning, and that’s what the devil does, he kills people. He kills them both spiritually and physically.  Once he kills people spiritually, then he kills people with words and physically as well.  How difficult is your family life because everybody is just killing each other?  That’s what you call, “Hell,” there’s no place to escape because everybody has to die. They stab each other with words, and they stab each other, even without words, and when somebody explodes, there’s real stabbing going on. This is slavery to Satan, and we must escape from that.

They don’t teach you how in school, and American politicians don’t know this and can’t teach this.  The only thing the politicians can do is to give you more state or national funding so you can get insurance and medical care, and they have this compulsory education so that everybody can get mental strength, so it’s true that America is a nation of freedom; they have a lot of physical freedom, but they don’t have any spiritual freedom, and that’s why they have so many mental illnesses.  There is an American statistic that one in every three people either have mental problems or have gone to see a counselor for them. Even right now, there are some people who are listening to God’s Word but they are enslaved to Satan’s thoughts elsewhere, or they are completely bound by emptiness and their thoughts are blank.  The common characteristic of those two people is the Word of God is not going into them.  Then, for the entire week, they are in a spiritual state where the Word of God does not go into them, so they are slaves.  The church is the place that tells you to not do that. Joseph went into Egypt as a slave, and although he was a slave on the exterior, he was not in the interior. I will explain to you why Joseph was not a slave.

2. Those who believe in Jesus

  1) Those who hold to Jesus’s teaching (Jn. 8:31)

    (1) Jesus’s disciple (Jn. 8:31)

Jesus Christ says in Jn. 8:31 that, “Those who hold to My teaching, you are really my disciples.”  So, a disciple is somebody who continuously holds onto and follows the words of Jesus Christ.

    (2) You will know the truth (32) – Jesus is the truth (Jn. 14:6)

Then, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.  Jesus Christ says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” He is the Truth.  If you look at the Harvard University crest, there is a Latin word, “Veritas.”  There are many crests that use this, including Oxford and Seoul National University, they say, “Veritas.”  Jesus Christ is the original Truth, but people have lost hold of that truth, so they try to get academic truth by freeing themselves from ignorance.  That’s why people try to gain more and more knowledge and understanding, by researching science so they can free themselves from inconvenience and ignorance, but there is no truth there. They go to church but there is no truth; in other words, they have no freedom.  Believing in Jesus means you gain freedom.

    (3) The truth will set you free (Jn. 8:32)

There are some people who think that, ”Freedom is being able to do whatever you want,” but the Bible never says that. Jesus says, “When you hold onto my Word, then you will be my disciple.  Then, the truth will set you free.”  Jesus never said, “Doing whatever you want will set you free.”  If kids aren’t able to learn this, then they won’t be able to get a job or exist there.  Because they have this incorrect understanding of Truth or freedom, they don’t want to be chained up or tied down.  So, then they’re going to go to church wanting to gain true freedom, but the church tells them, “Do this,” or, “Do that.”  Then they’re going to say, “Forget about the church, they keep telling me what to do,” and they leave.  That’s why whenever there’s a holiday, they pack their bags and take a trip in order to experience some freedom, in order to gain a little bit of freedom, just for a few days. But once they come back, it’s the exact same.

Joseph was sold into slavery into Egypt, and back then, they treated all the slaves like animals, selling and buying them.  But not once did the Bible say that Joseph complained about how unfair it is, how “I’m a child of God, I shouldn’t be treated this way.”  On the other hand, in fact, he held onto the Word of God and enjoyed freedom.  Joseph’s older brothers tried to kill him and ultimately sold him as a slave, and Joseph was not enslaved by that.  Joseph received God’s Word, “I have sent you ahead into Egypt to save many people, and that’s what Joseph held onto and was free.” Then, Joseph was falsely accused or framed of rape, and put into prison.  The Bible never talks about Joseph complaining about being falsely accused or framed and put into prison; instead, it talks about Joseph’s answers.

David said, “Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, it doesn’t matter for me,” why is that? Because the words that Jesus Christ says are inside of Him.  This is what the church must talk about.  This is not a place where we can give a lot of offering so we can avoid being hard pressed on all sides. That is someone who might go to church, but they don’t know the Truth, just like the Pharisees, it’s not a place where we pray so that my child does not face any hardship. This is a place where we receive the spiritual state that has the Truth, so no matter what problems we do face, we have freedom.

When people of the world look at somebody who really believes in Jesus Christ, they should not be able to understand. This person has completely failed, they have no money, but they don’t seem affected by that, or, this person has a disease but they are not affected by that.  There are some people who think, “Oh, I went to church, and the Pastor said that I shouldn’t be affected by my problems, so even though I have a disease, I’m going to try really hard not to be affected,” that’s still being seized.  I have to use my special military training to try to break through this problem on my own?  That is irrelevant to the Truth of the Bible. Or, “I’m going to try to use my great education from an Ivy League university to break through this university?” The Bible never says that. The Bible says, “The truth will set you free,” in other words, the “Words of Christ will set you free.” Even if you take medication for your depression or your mental problems, you will be scarred again.  The scars of your past will not be resolved no matter how long you go to church.  You have to know the spiritual state you’re in, where you have no other choice but to be scarred, and you know the method out of that state.

If someone gets a scar when they are young, they will act exactly as they did at that age. So when their scar is triggered, they drink alcohol, and the reason they drink alcohol is because it lowers your inhibition or your logic.  In other words, when you get drunk on alcohol, you forget about the pain and scars of the past.  Then, the only thing you remember is your emotions getting elevated.  That’s why when you sober up the next morning, your rationality is back, and you’re back in that old state. That’s why people get addicted to drinking.  “I thought we had freedom in America, then why are there so many drug addicts?” There are so many good things in America, there’s freedom of expression, but why is it that so many people are possessed by demons that they can’t even speak well?  America is not what sets you free, the Truth is what sets you free.  He says, “Though I’m hard pressed on all sides,” meaning, your life isn’t all of a sudden easy, you’re hard pressed. Or, we are facing death but we have already escaped death.  We don’t see anything in the future, but if you’re holding onto the words of the Christ, then it doesn’t matter.  The Lord died and resurrected to give us this.

  2) Abraham’s descendant

    (1) Isaac – Belongs to his father’s house (Jn. 8:35, Gal. 4:30)

    (2) You, like Isaac, are children of promise (Gal. 4:28)

    (3) Belong to Christ – Abraham’s descendant – Share inheritance (Gal. 3:29)

  3) One who belongs to God (Jn. 8:47)

    (1) Hears what God says (Jn. 8:47)

For the people who understand this blessing, first in John 8:47, it says, “You must be of God. Whoever belongs to God hears the words of Jesus Christ.”  But if you’re not able to hear the words of Jesus Christ, it means you belong somewhere else. It means that you belong to the devil, you listen to and follow after the lies and the greed that Satan places inside of you.  Then, the people who have true freedom will testify of true freedom.  Apostle Paul was in chains and was in prison because he was testifying the gospel, even though it was illegal in the Jewish society, and he was standing before the Roman Court and the Judge said, “You seem to be too educated, you seem to be going crazy.”  The reason he said that Paul looked crazy was because when a nonbeliever looks at someone who really believes in Jesus, they do look crazy.  Then, Apostle Paul said, “I hope you become crazy like me,” this doesn’t mean he actually wants them to get a mental problem; Paul is saying, “I hope you get true freedom, the way I did.”

So, from the people of the world, they look at somebody who has true freedom and it looks crazy to them, but that is the standard of believing in Jesus Christ.  If there are any of you who go to church without knowing this standard, then you’re not a real Christian. The reason why there are so many churches closing in America is because they don’t know the correct truth that sets you free.  Apostle Paul confessed, “Everything I’ve sought in the past was rubbish.” He was seeking after his own happiness using his own methods, and now he considers them rubbish. He said, “Everything I considered a gain for myself, I now consider loss,” and the reason why I may throw those things away is so that I may hold onto Christ, because true freedom is found only in Christ, there is no freedom before that.”

Even this morning, on the way to church, I fought with my daughter, “Why are you dressed like that?  She was wearing a cropped shirt and low-rise pants and I said, “You’re going to worship,” and she started talking back, and at that point, I lost all of my inhibition, I went back into my past. You shouldn’t fight with me because killing people is my specialty. Ever since I was young, I specialized in killing people. I killed them realistically and with my words, and this actually came back up inside of me, so what standard came out? It’s what I thought was right, I said, “You cannot dress like that, I’m right and you’re wrong.”  Because the person I think is wrong keeps talking back, I said, “Close your mouth!” and yelled more.  If I’m really right, then I wouldn’t be so angry, but I was. I came to my senses and realized I was seized by something in my state. I was seized by my standard of what is right and what is wrong, and as I was asserting that, I lost my mind.

Whether my daughter dresses like this or like that, that’s not the truth, but inside of me, I have my firm standard of what I think is right and wrong, and I force that upon my daughter.  But from my daughter’s perspective, she says, “Why is he controlling me? Whether I dress like this or like that, what’s the problem?” So why am I giving this example? Even though we may have the Truth, we’re not able to go into the Truth, because moment by moment, instead of holding onto God’s Word as my standard, I keep falling back into my own standards. If I didn’t know the gospel, I would have told her, “You wait until you get home and we’re really going to fix you up,” because that’s how I was raised. I was raised being forcefully corrected, and that’s what I would’ve done to my daughter.  I only know about the education of the world where you have to force your child to be corrected. But does that mean her sin will change? No. Until the Word of God goes into us, we will always do whatever we think is right.  This is the image of the life that we live today.  Our main characters are here.

    (2) Obeys your word – Will never taste death (Jn. 8:52)

    (3) Know Jesus and obey his word (Jn. 8:55)

3. Those who testify of freedom

We have to testify of this true freedom, and what must we know first?

  1) It is finished – Cross (Jn. 19:30)

This incident where Jesus Christ died on the cross and resurrected has finished everything for me.  Once these words come into me, then the freedom begins.  However, if you are going to church and these words are not going into you, it means you’re filled to the brim with something else, and what is that “Something else”?  The Bible is telling us whatever we’re filled with is not the truth; it is the lie from the devil.

    (1) Lord of life lives in me (Gal. 2:20)

I have died on the cross with Christ, all the curses and disasters I should have received were taken by Christ instead, and now, Christ came back to life and lives inside of me as my Lord.  My Lord must change.  The Creator Triune God must be my Lord.  That’s the first step of believing in Jesus, but even though you believe in Jesus, you’re still your own master; that means that the goal of your life is always success.  That person will be enslaved by their own greed.  The goal of your life must be Christ Who is the Truth. The goal of your studies, business, or work, should be the Truth of Jesus Christ for you to be set free.  You will be free from your reason for studying and working.  There’s no method that will ever give you freedom; this is the gospel.  Are you bound by any of the problems or situations you’re facing? May you be set free through the gospel.  You can be bound by your own pride; if you’re seized by that, may you be set free.

    (2) God’s kingdom and works (Ac. 1:3)

Once Christ comes into me as the Lord of my life, the second thing I receive is the mission for God’s Kingdom.  Everybody has a goal in their life.  You have a goal for sitting here as well.  You must ask yourself, “Is the goal with which I sit here to fulfill God’s Word, or is it for my own goal?” That is what will determine your life.  I’m sure when you came to America, there were many different reasons, or, when you were born in America, there were many different reasons for you to live.  But if your reason is not changed to be for Christ, you will be enslaved.  We live within the Kingdom of Christ. When your mission in life changes to proclaim the gospel of the Truth of Jesus Christ to free people who are enslaved, then you will have true freedom in your life. In other words, you will be set free from yourself.  There’s nothing else that can free you from yourself because every human has their environment, their thoughts, and their situation.  However, when the work of the Kingdom of God becomes my mission, then we are not doing it with our own strength, but God promises us the strength of the Holy Spirit.

    (3) Filling of the Holy Spirit – Power – Witness to the ends of the earth (Ac. 1:8)

Jesus Christ said, “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power and be my witnesses until the end of the earth.” You will be set free from your scars, set free from your past, set free from the anxiety of the future, set free from the anxiety of death, and set free from your emotions of depression.  You’ll be set free from the trauma and fear you get from returning from war.  This is the true medicine that Christ gives us.  But this medicine is only given inside of the Bible, so it’s something that doctors and politicians cannot give.  But that’s why Jesus Christ says, “First seek His Kingdom and His righteousness,” then everything else that you are seeking will follow.

There are some people who say, “I started going to this church and my business went downhill; that means that if I go somewhere else, my business will do better, that’s idolatry.  That person’s goal is not their spiritual state, it’s material things; that person will continuously be destroyed, they will be enslaved by the devil.  Material possessions are not bad and success is not bad, either.  These are things that should follow as answers and blessings for the Kingdom of Christ, but if you are chasing after them as your main goal, then you will be enslaved.  You’re saying, “I really have to get out of my depression,” I hope you will get out of your greed to begin with.  “Oh, I have to come out of this difficult situation,” instead, let go of that greed to escape. If you are completely overwhelmed by the truth of Jesus Christ, then whether you have this disease or not, it doesn’t matter.  That’s why when the people of the world saw Christians in the Bible, they thought, “The world is not worth of them.” That’s what it means to believe in Jesus. But if people go to church without knowing this tremendous fact and they live with the standards of the world, they’re enslaved by the devil.  When you come to church, you should enjoy true freedom and then go back.  May you have this blessing.

  2) 24 Prayer

    (1) Concentrate on prayer (Ac. 1:14)

Now, this means you concentrate on prayer, 24 hours a day.  Then, God will fill you up and work upon you with the Holy Spirit. And the specific time is not promised, because He gives it to you, 24 hours a day.  People who believe in this will be praying that prayer even now, but because we do not believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, we do not pray for that, but you’re under the misconception that you do believe. But if you really did believe, you would be listening to the message right now while you are praying, praying for God’s power to come upon you and make you a witness of freedom to the ends of the earth.  When God’s power comes upon you, then everything I need will follow, even the financial power that you want so much will follow as an answer, but you don’t believe that, and instead of doing what God tells us to do, we cling onto these blessings, asking God to give them to us.  But that’s actually being seized by my own greed.

    (2) Work of Holy Spirit (Ac. 2:1-4)

When God’s power of creation comes upon me, then I will be a witness until the ends of the earth.  Even right now, at this moment, I hope you are worshiping in prayer.  Even today, I hope you will eat your meals in prayer.  Without a doubt, the invisible works of the Holy Spirit will be revealed, but we don’t believe that, but you still say you believe in Jesus, that’s why you have to live with your own mental strength; you live with your own power, but if you pray right now, God will work.  Do not pray for your greed or your ambition, but instead, pray for God’s Kingdom and power to be established upon you and your fields. Then, without a doubt, the Holy Spirit of God will work upon your business, economy, missions, and evangelism will open at the same time, but why don’t we believe that? Because there was one time when I tried with my own methods and succeeded, but the Lord will make all of that in vain or useless.

    (3) Open doors of evangelism, missions (Ac. 2:9-11)

King Solomon confessed, “Me becoming king, marrying thousands of woman, and having all the treasures of the world is vain, it is all vain,” so God will make us realize how vain it all is, and the only thing that is true is the Word of God, and only the things that come as a result of the Word of God as an answer.  God is bringing us to the ground so we realize this truth. When our economy is struggling, then my strength is not enough.  When the economy is good, it feels like I can do things with my strength, and at that point it’s hard to distinguish whether it’s my strength or God’s grace, but when the economy is struggling, that is when I can tell the difference between my strength and God’s grace.  You need to really believe in God so that you’ll really believe in God’s power.  God is allowing this situation to happen so you really live for the Kingdom of Christ instead of your own goal.  We must escape from religious life.  Religion, begging for something, praying for something, that’s just your insurance; that has nothing to do with the gospel. No matter what happens, only the words of Christ are fulfilled.

  3) All nations, Healing, Future generation – Church that saves (Temple)

This kind of church will be used to do the healing work and raising disciples of the 237 nations.  As much as the people inside of the church are raised up to save all nations, healing, and summit, God will save more people. Everywhere these people moved or prayed, the forces of darkness were broken down.  As soon as you go into your professional workfield, there is a spiritual battle there.  The Bible tells us so specifically that our battle is not physical, it’s spiritual, yet we always go into it physically. Right now, we need to overcome the spiritual battle with the devil in order for everything else to happen.  That is why, first seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, then everything else will be given to you as well. But are there any of you who go to your job in order to fight the spiritual battle? You got in there to do a good job. You go into your job to fight the physical battle, that’s why you’re seized by it.  You become seized by the devil that is controlling America and the finances.

That’s not true; you are a missionary who is participating in financial work.  The people who go into their job, remembering their identity, will receive answers.  You will understand the background of the kingdom of God, when the Holy Spirit works and the Kingdom of Satan is broken.  Then the life movement will take place.  As the life movement takes place, your finances and everything else you need will follow.  That is what we must testify of to our next generations, that is how the next generations will come to life.

    (1) Mission, Team, Place (Ac. 13:2-4)

    (2) Region – Bind forces of darkness (Ac. 13:8-11)

    (3) The proconsul believed (Ac. 13:12)

    (4) Synagogue (Ac. 17:1, 18:4, 19:8)

Conclusion

1 Only Jesus Christ – Liberated, Freedom

In conclusion, there is no freedom, no liberation other than the truth of Jesus Christ.

2. Only Jesus Christ’s kingdom – Goal

There is no freedom other than the goal and destination of my life to spread the Kingdom of Christ.

3. Power of Holy Spirit – Prayer

There’s no power other than the filling of the Holy Spirit that works upon me when I pray for the Kingdom of Christ.  So, each and every one of us has our own religious life and our own standards, so may you enjoy this life of overcoming that through the true prayer and covenant.

Message Prayer

Let us pray together holding onto the Covenant we have received together.

Offering Prayer and Newcomer Blessing

God, we thank You.  We praise the Lord Who makes us free through the Truth.  Allow us to enjoy true freedom in all darkness, and we believe You will allow us to enjoy true freedom from the things that are binding us.  We believe that Your power will be revealed upon us and we will be witnesses of this freedom to the ends of the earth.

We have returned your materials as offering.  We pray that wherever this offering is used, it will be used to testify of the true gospel that the truth will set us free.  May those who are diseased be set free from their diseases, and may we have the true and precious freedom, the truth that sets us free from being bound by financial problems, greed, and mental problems. And we pray You will work upon our businesses and our studies with the answer of the economy of light and the Temple construction that allows us to do the work of saving all nations, raising the future generations, and healing.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

God, we thank You.  We pray you will use these two gentlemen your freedom within your truth, and God, we pray You will bless them to be a witness of this freedom until the ends of the earth.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
