Christ, the Only Way (1 Tim. 2:5)

Praise God.

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I pray that may we have victory in worship given tonight. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Today, we look at the Word that says Christ, the Only Way

Why is Christ the only way?

Let’s look at the book of 1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus”

Why do we need Christ Jesus?

Because man was separated from God. Man left God. What left? What happened? What is it that made man to leave God?

Man was originally created to be with God. Man was created to be with God and have true happiness. Because man was created in the image and likeness of God. And God gave man His commandment. He gave us His commandment, His Word, “do not eat of this tree in the middle of the garden. That is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You can eat every other thing but this, don’t.” the problem isn’t the tree, the problem is disobeying God’s word. Not believing God. And what happened? What led to us being separated from God? Satan.

What does Satan do? Satan deceived man. Satan deceives man and as a result, man committed a sin. What sin? Disobedience? Man disobeyed God. “Don’t eat this! This is my word.” Man didn’t obey God’s word and as a result man was separated from God. This is our original sin problem. You cannot see the fundamental problems because out of this comes every other problem that man has in the world today. And because of this what happens?

Man becomes slave under Satan. As a result of man being separated from God, what happened? The outcome? Man became a child of Satan. Said you belong to the father, the devil. And you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning. He’s a liar and father of all lies. That is what Satan is. And that is what the world has become.

And because of this, idol worship becomes the order of the day. We see so many things out there. Religion, movement, so many organizations. Yoga movement. Transcendental meditation. All of this.

And 3rd place, what happened? Man had mental problems. Why does man have mental problems? Because despite him trying, despite all this idol worship, nothing seems to be working. Despite the technological advancement, nothing is working. Why? Because man has disobeyed God. Man has been severed from his original source. And because of this mental affliction happens and it becomes our burden every day.

As a result of all this, what happened? We have so many sickness and diseases. So many sicknesses and diseases all over the place. And after man has suffered all of this, what will happen? When we die, we go to hell. But it doesn’t end there. That’s why people who commit suicide, it only gives a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Hell. It doesn’t end there.

They still give this as spiritual intelligence to the next generation. This is the outcome of man being separated from God. And man tried to come out of this.

How?

Through religion. Because like I said earlier, so many religions all over the place. Yoga movement, this movement, transcendental meditation, empty yourself, visualize it, believe in yourself, if you think it you can do it. So many religions. So many movements. It’s still not working.

Philosophy and science. The world is advancing in terms of technology today but the more advancement the more mental problems, the more mental affliction, the more emptiness man feels inside of him. because the solution is not science. And of course, if good deeds were the solution to our problems then UN should be able to solve the problems of the world. We shouldn’t have the problems here and there. If goodness and charity work was the solution to mans’ problems then of course. Recently, we have too many coup d’état in West Africa. About 3-4 nations, Mali, Cote D’ivoire, Guinea, Gambia, Burkina Faso, the most recent. Just look at it. We come up with so many ideologies. Especially developed nations. We see nations ganging up on nations. And nations trying to intrude on other nations. Russia. Ukraine. China this. UK that. US, Mexico. US, Canada. Our ideologies aren’t working.

But here comes the solution. The solution – offspring of the woman. Genesis 3:15. God promised us this from the beginning. That through His blood, we shall be set free from our spiritual slavery. The blood sacrifice. Through Him, because He is with us, Immanuel. We need to understand that. That is the solution. Why? Because He is the Christ. And who is Christ/ He’s the anointed one. And what is the 3 offices that are mentioned in the Old Testament. The king, the priest, and the prophet. And the Christ is all these in one. No other. Simon Peter says, what does he say in Matt 16:16. You are the Christ, the son of the living God. Why? Because in order to destroy Satan, He had to come as the King. According to 1 John 3:8. That he is does what is sinful is of the devil. And the reason the son of man appeared is to destroy the work of the devil. What is the work of the devil? It is to lie. What is the work of the devil? Destruction.  Christ has come to destroy it and that’s why He said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. The truth, not all the ideologies and not the religions. What is the truth? That Jesus is the Christ.

And that’s why He came as the true priest to give His life. In Mark 10:4-5. It says the son of man has not come to ministered to but to what? To minister? And to give His life as a ransom for many. Why? So that through His blood, through that price He has paid, we shall be free.

Because He si the true prophet. He said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. He’s the only mediator; He’s the only one who has set us free. Science can’t help. Philosophy can’t help. Human ideology can’t help. Democracy, communist, socialist, capitalist  — it’s not a solution. It’s not my position, it’s not by how wealthy you are. It’s by knowing and believing and accepting that Jesus is the Christ.

Conclusion

What must we do. We must believe this. John 20:30-31. Verse 30 says that Jesus performed many miracles in the presence of the disciples but they were not written. They were not recorded. They were not recorded b/c he did not come for signs and wonders. But hey, it says that these are written so that you may know that He is the Messiah, the son of God. And by believing, you have what, life. And not just life, you have abundant life, everlasting life. No more death.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in shall not perish but have everlasting life.

And finally in Acts 4:12, what does it say. It says that there is no other name given to man. No other name. no other name. the only name by which we can receive salvation is the name of Jesus Christ because he has been sent for us to meet God. He’s the only God’s method of us to receive salvation. It’s no other way. All we need to hold on to at this time is Only Christ. If we hold onto only Christ. That’s all . that is the only name Satna is scared of. When you imprint this, Satna is scared. When you imprint this, the forces of darkness crumble. And I pray this day that we be truly believe and accept this. that Christ becomes our life and master and our everything amen.

Let us pray, dear everlasting father. We thank you for this movement. We thank you for this remnant worship. We know we are the ones deserving of judgment, we are the ones deserving of condemnation and even hell. But out of your love and grace, out of mercy that is new every morning, you set us free from the law of sin and death. You set us free from the background of hell and you said it was finished. You finished it all on the cross according to John 19:30. We4 pray this day that may Christ become our master, may Christ become our life, may we confess and believe everywhere we go, that Jesus is the Christ.  Thank you for our answered prayers. Lord, I pray that may we receive grace from Your word, that this word will fall into finer soil in our heart and be fruitful. That everywhere we go we shine the light of Christ to all we meet.
